"Great value guest house near Blue Bay Beach "
Excellent value guest house with rooms on both sides of the beach road. The garden rooms are cheaper and very quiet - just no sea view and across the street. Rooms have ceiling fans and AC, small fridge, kettle, hit water in the shower. The main beachfront part has great views of the sea and good beach walking - lots of rocks but plenty of sand also. Turn right on the beach to walk toward Blue Bay public beach. I hesitated to book the breakfast but was glad I did - baguettes with cheese, fruit and fresh yogurt and granola, boiled eggs, real coffee, and all sitting with a view out to the sea. If you are starting early and have a car you can easily save the money on breakfast and eat in nearby Mahebourg. There are not many restaurants within easy walking distance - but it's worth a walk to "Blue Bamboo" for lunch or dinner. The Blue Bay public beach is 3 min walk and is beautiful. Public buses pass frequently to take you to Mahebourg, which is definitely worth a visit - try "Les Copains d'Abord" restaurant there for lunch. The only negative I had was that the neighborhood was experiencing power outages while I was there -- my 2nd night no power from 7 PM to 1 AM. Not the hotel's fault but just bad luck. Wish they had a small generator for those occasions. Highly recommended!

"Lovely hotel with fantastic staff"
Our stay was fantastic, even though it was the winter season! My wife and I spent 4 lovely nights waking up to the sight of the beach right by our door leading out to the beach. Dinner was at Mercado Din, buffet style with a good variety to chose from. Good food! Breakfast was at The Plantation Club with a lovely view of the hills and beautiful birds around you. Full English breakfast..Exquisite!! Amenities were fine, but the staff were FANTASTIC!! Every single one of them we came in contact with. We had a spa treatment, very relaxing! Definitely worth a revisit!!

"gluten free/food allergy - no worries @ Tamarina!"
Really nice, very friendly quite small hotel on a lovely part of the coast with its own sheltered part of the beach.(relatively hawker free) The main restaurant was really excellent and far from the typical half board/all inclusive. We travel with 2 gluten free teenagers which in a country like Mauritius can be difficult. The catering staff led by Chef Eric and the fantastic hospitality team led by Hans went out of their way to make sure that food was a pleasure not a problem. They established the boys preferences and cooked to order including delicious gluten free pancakes for breakfast.

"On the beach"
Convenient hotel to the airport. All inclusive rate is a bit confusing as it is NOT a true All Inclusive. Some items are not included and they tell you the drinks with the red start are not included. Spent 3 days there and never saw anything with with a start yet was charged for drinks. Spent 3 days and 2 nights and my bill when I checked out was 7000rp or about $300 US. Food was good but very average, nothing special here. If you are looking for a place close to the airport and dont mind guessing if you will be charged or not, book it. Very pretty hotel. Beach is large, but you can only swim in a very small part, rocks everywhere.

"Lovely staff, pretty good all-inclusive"
I stayed there on my own for five nights as part of a Mauritius Marathon package. The staff are super-lovely - really helpful and friendly - although at times seemed a little baffled about my being on holiday solo (the place is more used to couples and families). The accommodation is not particularly sympathetic to the local environment (brick/red tiles made it feel very package tour resort-y, which I guess it is!) But Inside the rooms are of good size, kept very clean, beds super kingsize/comfortable and generous bathrooms. I had an all-inclusive package - my first experience of this. I found the main buffet-style restaurant a little hit-and-miss in terms of quality for dinner, particularly if you tried to eat after 8pm. Compared with other regular 4* hotels I've stayed in breakfast was good in terms of variety and quality of food. The Playa Restaurant, which you have to book for dinner at least 24 hours ahead, was much more consistent (for lunch and dinner), and with a menu and waiter/waitress service a lot more relaxing, quieter, and couples-friendly. House wine is fine, house cocktails were far from stingy on booze, but did tend to be heavy on sugar syrup - not my thing, but the staff there were very happy to alter recipes. Airport transfers were organised very quickly and efficiently by the resort. The spa is lovely - treatments are London+ prices. Conclusion: solid bet if you want comfort, ease, and aren't too bothered about feeling like you are in Mauritius.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
