quiet small room OK for one or two nights. common area available to eat.

We had a wonderful time at this guest house. Steps from the heart of Nelson - walkable to nearly anything you need. (With the possible exception of a "regular" grocery store. It's doable, but a car may help for that.) Room was very clean, spacious, comfortable, had everything we needed and more.

Very comfy bed nice staff. A bit pricy but good central location

For an inexpensive place to stay it's a great place.

Inn does not open till four o'clock, would be nice to check in earlier in the day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Hume. The location was central to the downtown with its combination of Victorian and bohemian atmospheres. The variety of eating/drinking establishments was excellent. We loved the fact that the main floor was a labyrinth yet the rooms were modern and comfortable. We especially loved the friendliness and efficiency of the staff!

We liked this hostel / hotel as it allowed us to have our dogs in the room for a basic extra charge.

No elevator, no busboy. Find another if you have heavy luggage.

Was a nice hotel, enjoyed the fact that we could have our puppy with us. Was to close to the train tracks for us but the staff made it very known at check in and also supplied ear plugs 😊

Obvious renos where taking place along with the previous upgrades but, it lacked care to the customers needs. Why would the all exterior lights be turned off on the walkways at 9pm? Persons with poor eye sight would have difficulty navigating. Several areas were skimped on just to save money I guess. Our king bed was so far from our headboard that our pillows would fall into the hole which was filled with dust that was there since the renos. The floor was poorly installed and was not done buy pros. The room was quiet and loved the duvet nice touch. Overall the room with the king bed was comfortable but it seemed like we were laying in a container with a bed. Nice having the dinner so close by.
