We've stayed here a few times over the last 20 odd years and while we still like staying here, the place is looking a little tired and for the money you pay to stay here, it could be in better condition. Apart from that it was lovely and the staff were great.

Perfect place to go if you want to relax. The staff there are amazing and treat you like long lost relatives. The resort was amazing and rooms are wonderful. Especially the aircon which you really appreciate at the end of the day.

Overall, our stay was nice. The resort had a fan and air conditioning in the rooms, which were tidied up daily. It was pretty easy to navigate. They also had towels and aqua shoes available to borrow. The seating was good, with plenty of spaces to choose from. A few things we didn’t like were the buffet breakfast (off brand-cereals, fruit and toast) I feel like we paid enough to have hot foods or at least a variety rotated (not the same everyday) and most days we bought breakfast elsewhere because of this. There was a lack of feminine hygiene disposal options. The pool closed at 9, which was pretty early in comparison to the bars and restaurants and also didn’t have any time after sunset for adults only. The staff seemed to lose their friendliness if you didn’t have a suitcase alongside you and were either checking in or checking out. The parking was also poor, and wasn’t labeled properly to encourage cars not to overfill the spaces. The driveway in has a drop we’re you’ll scrape your bumper - especially annoying if you’re hiring/renting a car. The resort does not provide wifi, which even when paid for does not have good coverage. The menu they provide was also quite minimal. The shower flooded the bathroom after every use, even if it was only brief. This was one of the nicer resorts to go to, but with the price considered, it could do with some improvements.

We expected more

This will have to be point form as i ran out of room in original write up. Redicilously expensive transport to/from airport. Over $100 NZ for wife and I for a 8 minute ride. Same cost to go anywhere on island. Water in taps not safe to drink. No one told us until we asked and then were initially told yes. They are not. There is a filtered water tap in laundry room. We had to ask about.No bottle of filtered water in room. No free wifi. No netflix on tv. We previously stayed at more budget place in Muri Moto that had free wifi, a bottle of filtered water in fridge, and easy access to the filtered tap. Oh, and Edgewater didnt inform transport company about our pick up. Food mediocre. No shade in pool. Lots of little kids so better for families.

500 plus rooms make it easier to communicate with outside world free wifi or something from A business perspective make sense cost of accommodation and flights should easy cover the cost of wifi. Does not help having to purchase package to check in for your flight and lost luggage and no other way to communicate with the outside world.aprt from that resort good clean workers are grafters. Let me ask do they need to turn the rooms around every day not really every 2 is good
