Honeymoon Feedback – Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar (Adults Only, All Inclusive) Our honeymoon stay at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar was good—but unfortunately, it was far from great and WAS NOT LUXURIOUS. While we appreciated many aspects of our trip, several disappointing experiences made it clear that this resort was not the right choice for us and we would not return. Shout Outs & Positive Highlights 🌟 Front Desk Supervisors Ambiorix & Orlando – Absolutely AWESOME! They helped us quickly resolve our check-in issue and set a welcoming tone. Carlos – Assisted us to our room with professionalism and kindness. Andres & Jose (Amstar) – Fantastic support with our excursion booking. Palmyra Buffet Staff – Energetic and fun, even surprising us with Mamajuana shots! Eric & Mario (Portofino) – Excellent waiter and waitress service. (Bartender at Portofino) – Made the BEST Apple Amaretto Sour drinks (we lost count after 13–14 between the two of us). Sports Bar – Those wings were out of this world… seriously, a MUST-TRY. Francis (Saona Island Tour Guide) – Wonderful, knowledgeable, and made the excursion special. Emmanuel & William (Poolside Bartenders) – Always kept our cups full and the energy high. Chef at Meat’s – Personally came out to discuss an issue with my wife’s meal and then re-cooked it to PERFECTION. True dedication to service! Mixed/Okay Experiences Mashua Nikkei (Peruvian/Japanese Restaurant) – The food was okay, but nothing to write home about.

I really like the stay at the resort. It was my first time there and I have a positive view of it. The only thing that I did not like was the aggressive approach of the finance manager at the privilege club had towards myself and my husband, making us feel obligated to become members. Overall, everything was great. The staff was very attentive, polite and professional. The food was great. We had a great interaction with our waiter Aneunsy during our romantic dinner and we had a great interaction with Miguel, one of the concierges people. I would come back again and I’m thinking of bring my parents and my children next time I visit the resort.

I had a wonderful experience at Bahia principe luxury Ambar, would DEFINITELY recommend. There is so much to do and the staff are very friendly and super helpful. In particular the bartender Orlando Reyes in the Sports Bar in the Luxury Ambar, was extremely friendly and made sure we constantly had drinks. The customer service was impeccable by this man, and I would definitely recommend visiting the sports bar!! Had a wonderful experience would definitely come again!

Wonderful experience.

Absolutely delightful stay. While not the biggest resort, it was wanting for little. Excellent service all around. Had a great time staying here on my own. Highly recommend.

I didn’t like the seaweed on the beach shore so we could not enjoy the DR punta cana beaches. We went to the fish market and the ceviche had unpeeled skin which was not to our liking. We ordered fried fish that was far from fried I’m the views and service were up to par.

This was one of the most beautiful resorts I’ve ever visited. The staff here were wonderful, even the housekeeping staff. The bartenders at the pool were very hard and they make your experience fun. The entertainment staff were out of this world and very friendly. I would definitely come back to visit this property and to mingle with the entertainment staff again. The food options were great as there were many options to choose from except the food lacked quality, but the quantity was definitely there!

The property is gorgeous. The bartenders, entertainment, housekeeping, and maintenance staff were awesome. Unfortunately the rest of the staff doesn’t make you feel very welcomed. Always felt like we were bothering them whenever we needed something. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, the food was not the best and everywhere you turn there is someone trying to sell you something. No matter where you go, there is someone nagging you about the spa, excursions, cigars, clubs, etc… I just want to relax and enjoy my vacation. It was very annoying.

The staff is really nice. Everyone greets you with a smile and are very helpful. There are 7 different resorts at this location so it’s huge and there are a lot of people. At Ambar the pool was packed everyday, you couldn’t get seats if you’re not the first there. All the resorts were crowded. The pool was too warm and smelled of urine. The beach is full of seaweed making the water look dark greenish brown like NYC beaches. Then the smell/stench of rotten eggs coming off the beach is unbearable. The workers said it’s only like that during hurricane season (May-sept.). There is also way too much soliciting on the beach. Every 5 minutes someone is coming to offer you something to buy, an excursion, a massage or something else. We travel a lot and are use to soliciting but at Bahia it’s overwhelming and every day. Their food was okay. I was expecting the cultural dishes like mangú to be tasteful, instead they were worst than the other foods. You are better off going outside the resort to taste the cultural food. Then there was the room, the room had a moldy smell and our clothes reeked of mold when we got home. For the expense of the trip, it’s not worth the stay. We booked all of the fancy restaurants before we checked in. By the time we got there, everything was booked. When we were eating dinner at these places, there were lot of empty tables, we didn’t understand how they were so booked and so hard to get a reservation at.

Great service, but you be able to use o ly the buffet fron that hotel. Staying on the premium hotel you should be able to use any other hotel buffet.
