If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay, this hotel is a good choice. It's ideal for those who want to unwind in a quiet environment. However, if you're seeking entertainment or nightlife, this may not be the place for you—the entertainment options, including the disco nights, are quite dull and underwhelming. The hotel is in need of urgent maintenance. Signs of wear and deterioration are noticeable throughout the property, which takes away from the overall experience. On a positive note, the staff are outstanding. They treat guests with genuine care and make you feel like a valued customer. Their attentiveness and professionalism truly stand out.

The staff overall was great. We upgraded to Diamond Club prior to arriving, however you can only receive Diamond Club amenities at two bars which was an inconvenient at times. Diamond Club amenities should be available at all bars for DC members. The food was mediocre and not many options available for breakfast. Muchies by the pool always ran out of food or items not available. We tried to reserve a reservation at Hunters steakhouse and it was closed 3 days we were there. While we were getting a massage the power went out which we heard from several people at the resort they did not have power but we did.

Property was fun. Some items we did not like were as follows. No air conditioning in any of the restaurants or casino during our stay. This made dinner hot and frustrating. Food in restaurants was lack luster. Items were either not in stock or poor quality. Beach weedy. Staff was awesome. Pools were great. Swim up bar, volleyball, and foam party was excellent.

Birthday Disaster at Royalton Chic Hotel – Never Again I stayed at the Royalton Chic Hotel for my birthday, hoping for a relaxing and memorable getaway. While check-in was smooth and the staff at the front desk were polite, that’s where the good part ended—and the nightmare began. The Room: As soon as we got to our room, we noticed a loud, obnoxious noise coming from the AC. It sounded like a tractor was parked in the corner of the room. It was impossible to sleep through the night, and only one came to fix it despite us calling down to complain. For a place claiming to be “chic,” this felt more like a motel off the highway. The Food: Let me just say—horrible. The food was bland, cold, and lacked any seasoning or care. The fruit station had flies hovering around it, and the staff didn’t seem bothered. It was honestly disgusting and far from the fine dining experience they promote online. Entertainment? Not So Much: They advertise adult entertainment, but don’t be fooled. What they call “entertainment” is outdated, boring, and honestly depressing. If you’re under 40, you’ll feel completely out of place. There was zero energy or vibe that made it feel like a birthday celebration—or even a vacation. One Bright Spot: The butter at breakfast was actually really good. But if butter is the best thing about a hotel stay, that tells you everything you need to know. Final Thoughts: This was supposed to be a special birthday trip, and it ended up being frustrating, disappointing.

The property had black mold and gave us a hard time to exchange the room. There were bathroom appliances broken and no communication amongst staff after requesting supervisor services. The property employees were rude not knowing we speak Spanish and insulting us. Overall my experience was horrible.

My sheets were dirty and had sand on them upon my initial check in. The room was musty and smelled like mildew. Staff sprayed air freshener to cover the awful smell. There was no liquor in the mini bar as stated. We were given a small bottle of rum upon our departure. Food was sub-par and we found ourselves eating off the resort or just eating snacks. Complaints were made but not addressed timely or at all. Staff was friendly.

This is not a 5 star resort..a 3 is being generous. This resort is not aesthetically pleasing at all, needs several updates and repairs. The food is awful - every single restaurant. Out of all of the restaurants, only 2 were open each night we were there. I have never had such terrible food at a resort and they weren't the cleanest. The swim up suites and diamond club are a joke. There is zero point to having them. If you are over 40, you don't fit in.. the beach is dirty and full of seaweed where you can't even walk into the water - most resorts come by with the machines in the morning to clear the sand. they play music majority of the day without a dj and its elevator music till the afternoon - then its repetitive songs day in and day out - and random choices! goes from rap, to Spanish, to Adele?? the bars and restaurants would run out of things around 2-3pm. the employees will bother you and push to make sales while you are relaxing - there are people walking to sell on the beach (its not private like it says) - overall I would NEVER recommend this resort or stay at another Royalton. I ignored many negative reviews thinking it can be that bad - this was by far the worst all inclusive hotel I have ever stayed at.
