The Hacienda Xcanatun - Merida Hotels

The Hacienda Xcanatun

"The most beautiul hacienda on the Yucatan"
We have stayed as 4 different Hacienda's on the Yucatan and this is the one we come back to. This was our 3rd time. From the time you step through the entrance and are greeted you know you are somewhere very special. The attention to detail, the service, the lawns and gardens, the staff and most importantly the room will exceed every expectation. Hacienda's are more expensive so this is not a place to just drive in late and stay, and then leave the next day. Staying in Xcanaton is all about the experience. We absolutely love this place and will return again on our next trip to Merida. It is definately 5 star.

"Lovely hotel, close to the centre"
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Azul. The hotel is beautiful and the room was very nice and peaceful and grand. The staff were very helpful and polite and attentive and we would be happy to recommend your hotel to anyone visiting Merida. You could improve some things but they are small: 1. They could put boosters in the rooms to improve internet service. We could not really use the wifi because the connection was too weak. 2. They should do something to get rid of the mosquitoes in the breakfast area because there was a lot of them. 3. Housekeeping could be improved slightly. Most good hotels change bedsheets every 3 nights, and if someone is staying 4 nights like us, then usually most hotels will change bedsheets half way through the stay. We had the same sheets all throughout the stay. I save enough water reusing my towels and bedsheets when I am at home so when I go on holiday its nice to have fresh linens

We wanted to visit Celestun from Playa del Carmen, and Merida was a good base for the weekend. We were looking for the best value for price, rather than good location. It wasn't the cheapest place on Expedia, but it seemed like the best deal. We were very happy with it, and it was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Not fancy, but a nice, good, clean and safe place to stay for a couple of nights. It is on a main avenue heading north out of the city, towards Progreso. It is also close to the ring road around the city, so it was fairly convenient for heading out of town in the morning and coming back that night. We went downtown the first night, but left our vehicle to not have to deal with parking or worry if we had a couple of drinks, and it was very easy to catch a bus to the main square downtown from across the street, for very cheap.

"great place to stay for business traveller"
very very clean and well organized small rooms, great staff services, and perfect internet connection in my room. not really a place you can settle into as there is nowhere to unpack a lot of clothing but it is set up for the business traveller. it was very quiet up on the 6th floor, far from town , I was able to order some room service from the city but if you spoke Spanish it would be better for this, also easy to get a taxi wherever you want to go for shopping, the pool is very small but is nice for a quick dip. really it has everything you need and I found it very easy to get my work done. the room had a nice view of the area. I would recommend this hotel to single travellers or couples who are not looking to do anything other than relax in a quiet and clean hotel. Being so far from the city was the only downside because I don't speak much Spanish and found the city and the maps a little bit confusing.

"nice hotel, good restaurant"
We needed a cool, comfortable and calm place for an evening on the spur of the moment. This was a good place. Needs power supply next to bed for cell phone charging. Showers only turn on once you are in the tub, but hey, what's a face full of water?

Progreso is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Progreso, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Progreso hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
