A great older property that was great for the family.

Such a great boutique hotel with amazing friendly staff. Room well furnished and in a good size. Everything is provided from free mini bar which is refilled daily to extra pillow, slippers, fan, iron and iron board. Breakfast is included with the room and it is so yummy. The hotel is in a perfect location in Douglas promenade with many shops and places to eat. It is the best hotel and best location in Douglas.

The opel express was very clean and the breakfast very good with plenty of choice the room had excellent amenities provided ,with a kettle in room and tea coffee and water topped up daily, only saw staff at breakfast and checkout, it was self check in with key to room left in a safe, the room did have a ceiling fan which was very noisy and could only use with the light on, I was there during a very hot period so not much comfort throughout the night, the view from the room was not good looking out to the side of another building it didn’t feel very private as windows looking straight in, maybe nets could give it some privacy, the location was fantastic on the promenade with a bus stop across the road.

The night staff on August 8th, 2026 earned this hotel a solid 1 star if any. An absolutely horrible front desk lady that shouldn't be in contact with any customer at any level. The room was internally facing in a well like building so with the windows open it was a furnace, no AC. Breakfast was OK, very basic. I wouldn't recommend thos place, it was way below expectations.
