Older unit in stunning surroundings!

The development of which my studio unit was a part is very, very large. My studio unit was clean, well laid out, and had amenities like a wood burning fireplace, BBQ and private patio, full kitchen with good quality dishes and linens, and nice furniture in good shape. The unit itself was in one of the older buildings and rather dark inside facing away from the sun and being on the lowest level. It featured underground parking immediately under the unit. The bathroom was small but clean and adequate. The only thing I did not like was the hard bed, which though in the down position is a Murphy bed that folds into the wall. The entire unit is 20 minutes from Invermere and 30 minutes from Radium, up a paved mountain road with many turns. The scenery leading to the development is spectacular and the landscaping around the units is beautiful. Some units in the development are far newer and nicer but are privately owned. The entire development is rather isolated but there are tours and many nature adventures to be had nearby.

The property was in a beautiful location in the mountains, very quiet and relaxing. It was nice to have a hot tub just a few steps away. We were not informed that most places to eat would be closed for the season. There was also an “amenity fee” charged at the end of our stay that we were not aware of.

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay at Horsethief Lodge, Panorama. Our unit was lovely and clean with everything you’d need for your stay. Great to be able to cook in your own place and enjoy your own patio. We loved taking the gondola up to the pools and various activities. Loved the mountain coaster, mini golf and beautiful trails. We will return.

Panorama has a lot going for it as a summer vacation spot. Our kids had an incredible time in the pool and trying the ropes course and other amenities. However, in the future, our family will find a different rental unit until they make some upgrades. I'm not usually opposed to old facilities (I wouldn't have booked here if I was), but this place felt extremely industrial. From the cheap kitchen tap to the sticky kitchen table (the finish has worn and it feels gross) to the cold, white lights (warm lights would make such a difference!) and the noisy beds with loud, plastic sounding mattress protectors, the place left little to be desired apart from the facilities in Panorama. If this is your maximum budget, you'll still have a good time. A couple of tips: - bring a laptop (or other device) so you can connect it using the HDMI to stream shows (it's not a Smart TV). This was important for our kids' downtime. - there is no in-unit laundry (I'm used to places that have them!) so pack enough extras. One of the units beside ours had laundry and it was very noisy when they ran it. - there are a lot of steep stairs, so keep that in mind if mobility is a concern.
