"Pleasant weekend"
With the exception of not knowing how to work the jaccuzzi,( hardly any discernible instructions ) the stay was pretty enjoyable. We were handed a one sheet explanation (after we requested it) regarding the tub which proved useless. Could not find the On/Off switch. Also, did not appreciate the snickering and wise remarks by some of the staff regarding our request for instructions and the remark by one of them : " they must be in a hurry to jump into the tub".Other than that, the rest of the Staff was very pleasant, food was top notch and the room ( a bit expensive for a non holiday) was immaculate There could have been a little more heat provided though. Ours was a suite and with the exception of an electric heater in the wall, located high in one wall, warmth was non existent.

"For this price I expect perfection"
I get it, I paid weekend rates at a hotel near the beach, but for this price I expect perfection. The hotel pool was too cold to swim in. The one and only elevator was broken on the day I checked out, so I had to carry my luggage down three flights of stairs. The ice machine on my floor was broken, and the sign on the machine was charmingly misspelled ("Outta Order"). The back door to the hotel by the pool entrance did not close securely, and was found unlocked at least 50% of the time I entered from there. Negatives aside, the room was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels. The in-room coffee was surprisingly good. The breakfast buffet had very good sausage. The rest of the items looked good and fresh, but I did not try them. The location was perfect for my needs, and believe it or not, this is the best hotel in the area by far, and I have tried many of them.

" Decent hotel close to beach "
I've been coming here the past couple of years with my daughter for weekend getaways to go to Hammonasset beach. Mike at the front desk is great.... always willing to help with any concerns I ever have . Definitely a decent enough place for the money its reasonable. It's only downfall is it's in some serious need of updating....Specifically the bathrooms. Has a nice pool for a bonus.

"Comfortable bed and breakfast"
We arrived late, but the entry way was well lit and cheery. Cookies were in our room and hot water for tea was downstairs. I had to work, and there was a table with a near-by plug and good lighting in the common areas. The room was clean and comfortable. The towels were very plush. The owner was pleasant and accommodating. While they aren't in the room, hair dryers are available. The sitting room had games available. There was a fire in the fireplace when we came down for breakfast on a cold morning.

"Very Nice Historic Hotel"
Close to all shore points, shopping, and right on Main Street close to the Essex Marina. and CT River Museum.. Great restaurant, tavern and wine bar. Staff very nice, clean room though furniture a little tired. Truly historic with no TVs in rooms so you can get away from it all.( TV is available in living room next door if you must). You actually get a brass key with a numbered room number attached-no plastic! Temperature control of room was fantastic.

Old Saybrook is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Old Saybrook, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Old Saybrook hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
