Had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel that’s right on the beach. The staff are lovely and it was probably the most relaxing experience we’ve had on a summer holiday. The main hotel is dated but that’s a side issue as it’s very clean and well maintained. Food is excellent with a vast array of options for everyone. The bar staff are wonderful too.

We stayed here for 5 nights for a break for some winter sun. Initially the room seemed decent - double bed was just two single beds pushed together though. Requested a room upstairs when checking in but told they were fully booked so unable to accommodate. A couple of minor broken bits in the room (kitchen drawer, loose shower drain cover) but nothing that majorly affected our stay. Room was spacious and complex was conveniently located. The majority of people staying here are older so the place is very quiet. There is little atmosphere around the pool and the pool itself was very cold. We were told to keep the noise down by another guest because we were talking at normal volume walking past their apartment when coming home from an evening out. Our room must have been right by where the cleaners worked from as there was a lot of noise from trolleys going past from 8am onwards. All of the cleaning staff were really friendly and lovely. The room was cleaned on the third and fifth days; the bedding was never changed though. The pool bar was good but only open sporadically - this place is run independently from the hotel. The guy was hot and cold and seemed to have a pop at another guest, but was alright with us. We came across two cockroaches inside our apartment on the final day - we got rid of one ourselves and the cleaning staff took care of the second one.

Lovely relaxing stay

Staff was fantadtic and our bungalow/pod was spacious, clean and funky.

This was my 5th visit to this hotel but sadly, IT WILL BE MY LAST. The hotel is on its knees. It desperately needs investment. The view & location are incredible (paradise) but everything else is sadly TERRIBLE now. The hotel has always been a bit creaking but you were able to forgive this in the past because of the stunning views & location & friendliness of the staff. However, in the year since my last visit, the best staff have left and everything has BROKEN. The remaining staff are generally unpleasant and demoralised. I was checked in by Jana on reception. She was rude and obnoxious. She clearly hates her job and the customers. The gym equipment is broken and dangerous and quite frankly should be shut down (see photos). The sauna broke on my last day too. There are two lifts in the main body of the hotel - one was broken the entire stay and the other one broke too on my penultimate day. The hotel has a rat problem. During my stay, there were two dead rats around the pool (see photos). There were cockroaches in the rooms. Water started to pour from the ceiling in my room (photo). The maintenance man was quick to fix it (the AC). The cleaner who came to mop up was the nicest member of staff (the cleaners were always friendly). She was very apologetic and said this happens "siempre" (always)! The waiting staff in the dining room are miserable and ignore you when you say hello or goodbye. One evening, the chicken breasts were even undercooked. AWFUL - very sad.

The Faro Jandia is a lovely, great value, hotel in a great location with a lovely beach and excellent hill walks. Great food and great facilities. Staff are helpful, professional and friendly. This is a hotel that cares about it guests. We arrived late at night after dinner had ended yet they put on a lovely meal for us. We left very early, about 1.5 hours before breakfast but they put in an early breakfast for us. Report a maintenance issue (we had one small one) and it was sorted ASAP. This was our second stay and it was even better than iur first. We will be coming back.
