Clean, quiet and a nice place to sleep. However, the staff person wasn’t very customer service-oriented when I checked in. No greeting. Only pointed out the deposit requirement as though it should have deterred me. The night staff person was equally lacking in customer service when I needed my keys re-authorized as they expired. Didn’t seem to want to be bothered to have to do his job. I’m not sure I’d stay here again as it wasn’t very welcoming.

The building and its reviews are out dated. Our room was neglected one of the five days spent at the establishment. That day we were on our way by 8am and returned at 10 pm to no morning towels and room was not visited by house cleaning. Not the end of world but! I do not care for pets being aloud. There was a odor. Hot tubs were a turn off. They had a scum layer look. Sorry to be negative but I've stayed at nicer hotels.

Sitting in the heart of town with a few minutes drive to downtown Rapid City and all the great restaurants around. it took roughly 30 mins to get to most of the tourist sites outside the city. Staff professionalism on point.

This property exceeded expectations! It was extremely clean and everything is so well-designed that it feels like a much larger space. It was perfect for our family of 4 as we explored Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park and the Badlands.

I recently stayed at the Travelodge at 1550 La Crosse St, Rapid City, SD and had one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. Booked via third party and got a bare ground-floor room in terrible condition with a blood stain on the sheet. Staff moved us to room 234. Problems continued: room smelled so bad I used my own air freshener. We had to request hangers, soap, lotion and shower caps—none provided at first; they had no lotion or shower caps. No in-room safe. We had to carry all luggage up the stairs. Short drapes blew open with the AC, exposing the bed and letting in light. Pillows were high and hard, causing a headache. Next morning: no blow dryer or iron. Staff promised them “right away” but after 30 minutes my husband went downstairs to get them. We needed the advertised breakfast for our 7:15 a.m. tour shuttle. At 6:30 a.m. nothing was out, so we bought food elsewhere. When breakfast appeared it was sparse—not enough eggs, no tongs. Coffee dispenser was often empty. Getting a Do Not Disturb sign required tracking staff down after the front desk was empty and promises went unkept. This hotel is understaffed and poorly maintained. Rooms are unclean and under-equipped. We should get a refund for the four unused breakfasts, but they refused because of the third-party booking. I will never stay here again and cannot recommend it. Canadian Travelodges are far better. Frustrating start and end to our trip. Consider other options in Rapid City.
