We really enjoyed this hotel. The setting could not have been any better. Overwater bungalow with panoramic views was everything as described on website. The bungalow itself is a little dated. At 10 years old it needs refreshing especially for the price of the room. We found this hotel to be the most expensive on our month long vacation to the South Pacific.
The boat transportation from the airport to the hotel was more than $270 for the round trip. The ride lasted 12-15 minutes. We thought this was unnecessary and extremely high for a service provided by the hotel.

The hotel is located on a key, in front of the island of Tahaa, lagoon in between. The facilities are very good for a hotel of bungalows over the water . The view is wonderful , the rooms are spacious and very well maintained. If you want to rest in a paradise, this is the place to go, a beautiful sea and good attention. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed my stay at Le Perle de Tahaa, and was impressed with its luxurious well-appointed bungalows with modern furnishings. My room featured a stone sink and shower, mini kitchenette for preparing meals, and ultra-comfortable bedding. Ordinarily I would give this caliber of room 5-stars, but the temperature in the room was unbearably hot, despite the fan - I was sweating bullets within minutes. The owner, Roberto, is a friendly but to-the-point gentleman who takes pride in his hotel, but he would do well to install air conditioning in these bungalows - even on a pay-per-use coin operated system as used in some hotels in Australia. Powerful fans are installed in the bungalows, but they are of little use as they circulate the hot air - I only maintained comfort through repeated cold showers. With this slight alteration to the property, I believe it could compete with the best of hotels. The beach area by the lagoon was well-landscaped and relaxing, and the garden area features a wide variety of places to lounge and relax. I would recommend this hotel include transfers to and from the nearby pier (2 km, 20 minute walk), as the 1000 XPF price tag for the 3-minute drive is a bit steep - such inclusions go a long way in demonstrating excellent customer service. Roberto also offers reasonably priced island tours (5000 XPF, 5 hours) to vanilla plantations, pearl farm, and fruit orchards - I highly enjoyed his knowledgable guidance and would recommend the tour to visitors.

From the time we arrive at the bora bora airport and we were greeted by the St. Regis staff, the 5 star service began. The resort is beautiful. The over water villas are huge and we enjoyed breakfast every morning looking out at the lagoon. Jumping into the lagoon right off the villa was nice. All the staff are very nice and pay attention to details. Overall, our experience was great and we will be staying here again in the future.

Although excellent dive sites abound right across Bora Bora, Motu Tevairoa has earned a reputation as one of its best. Marine-rich scuba dives for all grades are available, while an established dive centre offers equipment hire, courses, and escorted dive tours. This motu is the largest of the flat islets dotting the outer reef of Bora Bora, and the closest to the airport, which can be reached in less than 10 minutes by boat transfer.
