Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora

"Bora Bora Paradise"
The Four Seasons is exceptional and lived up to our expectations in almost every way. The staff were fantastic and accomodating. The grounds were immaculate antrd the lagoon awe-inspiring. The overwater bungalow was beautiful and private; however, the mattress on the king bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in (even after asking for it to be changed, which the staff graciously did). Both were way too soft, had big indentations on each side where people had slept, and were obviously past the "use by date." For a resort of this quality in a place where people come to relax and rejuvenate, to not be able to get a good night's sleep was disappointing. Another thing to consider (which most have mentioned in past reviews) is that the price of food and wine is exorbitant...we came prepared for this and still had sticker shock. Wine has a consistent 400% mark-up. I understand that Bora Bora is remote and a lot of food has to come a long way, but the resort should be able to do amazing fish and sashimi dishes for a reasonable price considering that fish is sold daily on the main island and food trucks in Tahiti do absolutely delicious sashimi for $20 (and it was much tastier than the sashimi at the resort!). In all honesty, we would come back to the Four Seasons because it is a beautiful place and we did have a really good week, but it would be nice if the extra costs were brought into a bit more acceptable range.

"Prettiest over-the-water property in Bora Bora"
Upon our arrival we were amazed with the beauty of this tropical paradise. But a little disappointed with the hotel management and the unwillingness to accommodate my situation. Unfortunately, I had broken my toe a few days prior to leaving for my honeymoon. I asked the manager to give us a room closer in to the land, beach, restaurants, etc. (because I was wearing a removable protective boot and supposed to be on crutches, not walking much), but she had already assigned a water bungalow that was the furthest away and the next to the last one on the walkway! She was totally unwilling to reassign a bungalow closer in so that I did not have to walk so much! We are Expedia VIP Gold members and were eligible for an upgrade, but were not accommodated for that, either. This property does NOT like to honor Expedia perks. Although the property was beautiful, the drinks were super expensive and full of ice. When we were served a drink, it was literally about 3 sips and gone, left with a glass totally filled with ice! On one occasion, the bartender totally ignored us when we sat down, so we finally walked away without ordering and watched another couple do the same. This property would do a lot more business if they offered beach and pool service where they come to take lunch and drink orders where people are relaxing. We did visit a nearby property for future purposes and they DID serve food and drinks on the beach. That is something that we like when we are on a tropical vacation.

"Amazing Bungalows....but that is it! "
My first impression of this resort was "wow! we are in heaven"! The bungalows are amazing!!! The only annoying thing was you have to put your keycard in to keep the electricity on (make sure you get an extra). Other then that, which isn't a big deal the room was perfect and cleaned everyday. My complaints start with the staff. I couldn't believe how rude there were. They all acted like you were inconvieniencing them. At one point we asked for some ice and she just flat said no. We asked to make a dinner reservation somewhere and they said no. There were 2 bartenders at Miki Miki that were amazing, 1 girl at the activities desk, and the wedding coordinator that were very nice to deal with. Outside of that, it was awful! We would actually wait for Miki Miki to open to avoid the rude staff at the other places. There wasn't any English channels on the TV and not much to do. Overall we were pretty bored the whole time. Everything was extremely overpriced too! $24 for a hot dog! And that was a cheap meal. They even charge you for water! Nothing here is free. You pay to use the phone, you pay for the airport shuttle, the main island shuttle, everything! I couldn't believe the prices, but Bora Bora is known to be expensive. The excursions are all super expensive too! Nothing here isn't overwhelmingly expensive! When we got our bill there were extra charges on there. Specifically a turlte donation, they just add what they want on there. So make sure you double check your bill

"A Warm Welcome Here"
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in an OWB with a lagoon view. Our bungalow was spacious with a good sized bedroom, lounge and bathroom. We loved the look-out into the lagoon from our deck. The restaurant/bar for lunch had a great menu and we enjoyed the food. We only had one mis-fire with the staff; we didn't hear back on a dinner and fishing trip we enquired about. Short walk to convenience store. Pick-ups provided by most restaurants for dinner. Were told this resort is on the side of the island that bears the brunt of the winds and we it was windy during our stay - probably the time of year.

"Incredible location and the "huts" were amazing. "
Bora Bora is an amazing place and the Intercontinental is in the best location on the island. The staff and service fell short. The meals are very expensive but the food and service in the restaurants didn't live up to expectations.

"Beautiful, high tech room "
We really enjoyed our stay in one of the newly remodeled bungalows. We started our stay on July 21, 2016 and we're told that our room was renovated and opened 15 days prior. The room was spacious, clean and high tech! We enjoyed streaming music through the speakers in the room. The TV turns so you can watch it from outside - but let's face it: If you're in Bora Bora, you didn't come to watch TV. Our favorite place was the hammock nets off the balcony - a great place to sit and read a book or enjoy the sun. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The concierge was really helpful in booking excursions and dinners. One thing that was confusing was the shuttle boat to the main island. We missed it the first time we left town because it didn't pick up from the same location it dropped guests off at. If you aren't paying attention or looking for the boat (like we were), you'd definitely miss it. The construction wasn't too bad during our stay. There were a few mornings in which they started at 7am (or early) - a little annoying while on vacation. Some of the construction was unsightly but it didn't really impact our stay.

Bora Bora is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Bora Bora, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Bora Bora hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
