No frills but I'd stay here again!

Booked 3 Queen Family room for myself and 2 adult sons. Room is very large so non of us felt crowded. It was comfortable and clean!!

Booked the family suite for myself and 2 adult sons on our way to and from Deadwood, SD. The main difference between the 2 seperate stays was our room location and the layout of the rooms. 1st stay had 3 queen beds, couch and 2 desk in same room. 2nd stay had 2 queen beds in main room and another queen bed in additional room. I liked the 2nd stay better for our travel situation except that i didnt like that it was upstairs and the staircase is made of medal and concrete which really need to be resurfaced. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very nice and try to accommodate us the best they could. If you cant walk upstairs very well make sure to note that under special request when booking your stay here.

Thunderbird Lodge Mitchell SD

This hotel is old school, down to handing out old-fashioned metal room keys, Unfortunately, the condition of our room was old, too. Cracked plaster and paint splotches on the walls, rusted radiator housings and a hole in the bathroom ceiling near the heat lamp created a poor impression, as did the haphazardly hung room drapes. The old Honeywell thermostat didn't seem to work, and the HVAC unit was oddly installed most of the way up the wall, making it hard to see the controls. The lone front desk employee seemed overwhelmed with check-ins and requests, taking a long time to deal with his customers. The public areas of the hotel appeared old and run down.

Way too hot in the entire building, bed frame was aluminum so it made wierd noises everytime i moved, no water pressure, pillows were flat like cardboard, the continental breakfast was not good either. No eggs or sausage, just a waffle maker, cereal, old bagels. Just not a great place for the price

Safe, well lit area, walkable to gas station and Marlins Restaurant , Affordable and clean. Five stars for that, it’s just dated. Everything worked, our king bed was comfortable,, they provided great linens, toiletries. Breakfast was simple. Waffles, boiled eggs, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice. Will stay again.

Friendly people and clean facilities. I didn’t see a highchair for a toddler, but didn’t ask. The counter to eat at had plenty of room to set the child on safely.
