Great location yet showing its age

Hotel is located in a great location. Hotel service is great but the room showed its age. I believe rooms get renovated one at a time so I can’t speak on behalf of all rooms. Had issues with ac not connecting with remote. Shelf in shower was missing. Head board showed a lot of wear and furniture also showing its age. Biggest negative about room for my wife would be the lighting in the washroom, very dark.

Our stay was very comfortable and a good value for the $$. Our room/bed were very nice/comfortable. The location was fantastic, with the Metro right outside the door, and it being right next to two public squares, where street musicians would play every evening. Very nice cafe next door, where we ate breakfast every morning. Did I mention, what a great location? Stay here, you won't regret.

The area around the property and in the hotel at times smelled like a backed up drain. Check in wasn’t friendly with three people behind the counter only one worked. They do not have water or coffee in the rooms but you can buy at the vending machine off the lobby. Would not return.

The hotel is a typical European hotel. Simple amenities, good location, a very nice dining room for breakfast, clean rooms. The location is loud because of the location, but the windows were soundproof.

Fantastic area and location, and the lounge area and gym on the lower level are not to be missed. Room and hotel were generally musty and dated. Area is fantastic, but you can hear noise generally through the floors. Wifi was spotty at best

This is the WORST and MOST HORRIBLE HOTEL I’ve ever stayed in and experienced in all my years of traveling to 29 different countries. The staff was HORRIBLE! The room was ABYSMALLY HORRIBLE and had LARGE HOLES in the walls. The HOTEL MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE!! CheapTickets and Hotel.com should REMOVE this Hotel from its list of hotels. It’s an absolute embarrassment! I have the pictures and videos of the room with HOLES in the walls, and the Hotel Staff Sleeping at the front desk area.

Lobby smelled like bathroom, also pathway to the breakfast room. Breakfast food was not fresh, watermelon looked like it all was cut up a day before. Tables were not cleanned after. It was difficult to take any clean setting table when we went down.

This is an ok - to - good hotel. The Good: -central location right in the heart of Chiado. You’re in the middle of it all. -Spacious rooms (at least the one we got)- felt huge -a little dated furnishings but had an old world glamor -very very clean The bad: -if you get a room facing the square, expect loud noise til at least 11pm. Street performers singing, guitars, opera singing, crowds clapping and singing along. Even with sound proof rooms you’ll hear them. It was relatively quiet at night but then some drunk carousers in the middle of the night you might hear. -the elevator is old and small The so-so: service. Front desk service didn’t seem to care much, didn’t have any personality, needed training in good service, barely smiled or welcomed us. Seemed too busy and overloaded.
