The caboose we stayed in did not look like the pictures. It was run down. It was older and smelled musty, spider webs in the bunk room and ceiling, There was a spider in my bed and a few bugs around so the kids wouldn’t sleep. It’s summer on a farm so it wouldn’t be a big deal if you are a camper. The windows had dead bugs and dirt around them. I spent a lot to stay there and maybe they should let visitors know they may get an old one.

We liked the uniqueness of the rooms and the cute shop and dinning area. However, they seemed to be short staffed and we waited awhile for our food, but over all everyone wasfriendly and they worked hard. I hope they get help soon to allow the atmosphere flow better.

July Red Caboose Motel stay.

Stayed at The Red Caboose Motel in July 2025. I have stayed at this establishment a number of times since 2016. I was assigned to the New Haven Caboose which is one of several Cabooses that received fresh exterior paint last year. Room interior was comfortable with two wall unit A/C units which kept the room cool. Room also featured Cable flat screen TV, coffee maker, microwave, and mini-fridge. I dined at the on-site Casey Jones Restaurant and had a good dinner. The Motel is having free concerts during the Summer on Thursday evenings at the on-site Barn entertainment venue with drinks and appetizers available for purchase. All in all, I enjoy my stays at The Red Caboose Motel and will return.

Wonderful place to stay. We had stayed here about 10 years ago when our son was younger. We have great memories so came back fur a 1night stay with our son. Loved the improvements to the cabooses and property. Had a great time at the 4th of July celebration & fireworks were fantastic. Made more special memories and would encourage families to stay here to do the same.

Our second year in a row staying on July 3rd to experience the wonderful festival and fireworks. We were actually gonna go ahead and reserve for next July 3 but was told since it’s on a Friday it would be a two night minimum. Unfortunately, we cannot stay for the two nights and will probably miss next year. Wonderful place, wonderful event, wonderful people. I highly recommend this place.

It was a truly great experience. The only issues were that the caboose had a slight left hand lean to it making it a little difficult to maneuver. The bed, though we chose the caboose with a double bed, was very small

If you are looking for a unique, fun experience, this is the place to go. If you are looking for a spacious, modern room, stay away. This is a train caboose and they haven’t made a caboose in decades so they are old but nicely remodeled for a comfortable night rest.

This was a super convenient and fun place to stay while my family visited the area for Day Out with Thomas. The caboose was comfortable, food at the restaurant was great, and we enjoyed the gift shop, petting zoo, and small train playground area.
