We had a fabulous stay at Cedar inn during our recent visit to Tahoe. Room which was assigned to us was nice, clean and equipped with decent amenities. Staff was very well behaved and welcoming. We loved the location of the property. It was a great stay !!!

This place is a serious DUMP. This place should be torn down - it's clearly not safe looking at the sloped hallways and rickety stairs. We stayed for one night in Room 7 with the double bunk twin beds. The experience was like staying in a hostel. The beds were squeaky, one of the ladders was off the hinge, two of the outlets didn't work, there was only one small light for the entire room and then a lamp in the closet area, the bathroom fan worked only half of the time, the fridge light turned on but it did not get cold, and the door to the room would only close with a firm yank. The absolute worst part was that none of the 4 beds came with a top sheet!! There was only a fitted sheet on the mattress, one scratchy blanket, and one lumpy pillow per bed. I walked over to the office (in the snow) at a little after 11pm. I called and rang the doorbell and eventually a person slumped over from the back to open the door. I asked her for sheets for the beds. She looked at me like I was from Mars and then said "there are no flat sheets for those beds." I was flabbergasted, but politely said that we absolutely need sheets. She found 4 double-sized flat sheets and begrudgingly handed them to me. I paid $430 for this room which is beyond ridiculous for a room where many things were broken and sheets weren't provided. YUCK. How can I ask for a refund?

Stay somewhere else!

This hotel is very poorly maintained. Our room had dirty pillow cases when we checked in and we had to request they be changed. Then, our tv didn’t work. I let the front desk know, they said they would send maintenance and nobody came. The next day I reminded them again, maintenance came and said they would get a new tv but we waited hours and nobody returned. We finally had to leave and asked that nobody enter our room while we were gone. The main window in the room was being held together with duct tape. There was no heating system in the room, only a small space heater. The final straw was this morning there was no hot water in the shower so we just packed up and left and 6:30am. I will never stay here again and will never recommend anyone stay there. The only compensation the hotel was willing to offer for all the inconveniences was to waive our $50 pet fee, which is what I suggested since they claimed they could not do anything on a prepaid reservation. So not only is the hotel poorly maintained, but the customer service is severely lacking as well. It is very disappointing.

Awful experience at Cedar Inn

I had an awful experience at Cedar Inn. I checked in around 11 pm and was hoping for a quick, restful night after a long day of travel, but it was far from that. The room was not clean – two of the beds had old, unwashed sheets. To make things worse, a mouse ran into the room next to us, which was incredibly unsettling. The shower was disgusting and old, and clearly hadn’t been properly maintained. The room next to ours had their TV on all night, making it impossible to sleep. I paid over $400 for this room, and honestly, I regret not just sleeping in my car. We checked out at 6 am because we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. If you’re looking for a place to stay, do yourself a favor and avoid Cedar Inn. It’s definitely not worth the money.

We loved our stay at Cedar inn . Rooms were clean and had decent amenities for a short trip. We also had a microwave in our room. We did a late night check in and staff was very nice and friendly. Location is the best thing what we like about this property.
