"Great lodge on a great lakeā€¦"
I highly recommend Moraine Lake Lodge for its accommodations and proximity to the lake. My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed the lodge and its surroundings. Of the two lakes (Louise & Moraine), we were grateful we stayed at Moraine Lake Lodge as its lake and surrounding mountains and its hiking trails were more appealing and less touristy.

"Very close to Lake Louise and Lake Moraine"
The best thing about this hotel is its location, great to explore the lake Louise area by car and close to the village shops to buy food. We had Standard King room, it was clean, spacious and had a microwave and a refrigerator, important factors in a village with only two restaurants and hordes of tourists. On the negative side, the soundproofing between rooms is non-existent and we could hear every toilette flash in the neighboring room.

"PERFECT LOCATION"
The Deer Lodge hotel has SO much potential. Located just behind Chateau Lake Louise, it has the perfect location. It can be used as a base for hiking and exploring the area. Moraine Lake is about a 15 minute drive away. The dining rooms - both in the lounge and the formal dining rooms - are excellent. Self-parking is free. This hotel chain sources its meat from its own farms. From this point-of-view, I would certainly stay there again. On the negative side, the hotel seems to be run by students. While the staff is helpful, there is much to be done to improve the look of the hotel. Hallways are dim with ceiling fixtures which are full of dead insects. The rooms are spartan, but this is okay. No television? Perfect by my standards. But goodness, a fresh coat of paint everywhere and redone bathrooms would be a very necessary beginning. I do not understand ventilation systems that are so full of dust they have not been cleaned in many years. Cleanliness is so so important. I have written this message to the manager, and hope that person acts soon. There is absolutely no reason why Deer Lodge could not be a top-rated hotel.

"A Place to Crash"
The hotel offers some good dining and entertainment, and I paid a low price for the location. However I would suggest springing for a little more pricey room in the main hotel as the "bunkhouse" of building 4 - the Pineary - was little better than the staff accommodations I stayed in when I worked in Lake Louise 10 years ago. We could hear the people in the room above us very late into the night and very early in the morning. If you're looking for a cheap place to crash for a night and aren't planning on spending much time there or sleeping in late I would recommend it. If you are looking for a place to relax and be comfortable I would recommend spending the $$ for one of the nicer rooms or even hotels.

For the hefty price per night, I would have expected a larger room and much larger bathroom. The bathroom is extremely small and somewhat claustrophobic. It could also use some updating. The view of Lake Louise is exceptional.

Lake Louise is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Lake Louise, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Lake Louise hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
