If you are going to stay on the first floor — beware. It's like an expensive prison. Bare walls, you feel like you are underground, the lights don't stay on, etc. The bed had crumbs in it. The side tables had a bunch of stains. I understand this hotel is one of a cheapest option for the Laguna area, but the establishment could put in just a *small* amount of effort to make the rooms nice. Will not be coming back.

The property was ok. I had a room facing the Pacific Coast Highway, so the traffic noise was a lot to deal with. They had earplugs and a white noise machine in the room, but it seems like with this location, there should be more sound proofing.

We loved the idea of a hotel w/a pool & roof porch. The seating/tables on the roof make eating takeout much easier than eating in a room. The pool & hot tub were fine. But. The room itself wasn't clean on arrival. The floor was filthy & there were both sheets & towels w/stains. The bathroom smelled like sewage & hot garbage. I took pictures & rolled my eyes b/c we got in late, everyone was tired. We left the bathroom door closed & the exhaust on. There was *barely* enough room to inch out of bed for those sleeping on the "outer" edges, up against walls. It wasn't meant for 2 queen beds. We all had to sit on the beds & wipe sand off our feet *from the floor* in order to get into bed & sleep. We were gone all the next day, no room cleaning. I bought a febreeze small spaces air freshener for the bathroom. Everyone showered. Day 3, I asked by 10am what we had to do to indicate we'd like the room cleaned + fresh towels. The response was "oooo, sorry, you have to request that a day in advance" which wasn't posted anywhere in the room & I've never heard of before in my life. My expectation was we'd just tell them on our way out & would be on a list for anytime in the next 8 hrs before we got back. NOPE. We were 0 for 2 on any towels at the pool. Front desk never said hello, always greeted with "are you checking out?" for 4 days. Morning noon & night. Only pic on any wall was in the closet "nook", & the bathroom door opened toward the beds which felt dumb/avoidable at night. SKIP IT

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Its condition leaves something to be desired and it is very noisy. I've never stayed in a Sonder before and doubt I'll stay in one again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this Sonder location from May 27 to 29, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve had. The first room we were given looked nothing like the photos online or other Sonder rooms we’ve stayed in before. It was small, felt dirty, and even had a random pillar in the middle of the room. Thankfully, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. They were the one positive part of this stay and moved us to a better room. We also had ongoing issues getting our room door to open properly, which became a frustrating inconvenience during the trip. The biggest issue, though, was the billing. At checkout, the front desk only showed a charge for incidentals and told us it would return to my account in 1 to 3 days. A few days later, another significant charge appeared on top of that, which is when I called customer service. The first representative I spoke with tried to blame it on Expedia and seemed to brush it off, but she later called back, apologized, and admitted it was an error on Sonder’s end for both charges. I was then told the refund would process in 1 to 2 business days. That didn’t happen. I called again, and the next representative told me it could take 7 to 10 days, which is completely unacceptable given the circumstances. Between the misleading room, door access problems, and the poor communication and handling of a major billing error, I left feeling disappointed and frustrated.

The property is located in a great area. The room was nice. The restroom had great counter space with big mirror. The shower was huge. Staff was nice. The room was dark, had kind of a mildewy smell and the AC did not work. Also, the noise in the corridors carry. There was a box that indicated it had earplugs for the noise but the box was empty.
