No sign on the building should have prepped us… The front desk was unmanned. There was a sign stating to call a room # for assistance. We did so and after a few minutes a rep arrived, sat down and asked “reservation?” No greeting. I provided our name, she said “ID.” I gave her ID. Next was “CC or cash for deposit”. No explanation of amount, simply “CC or cash.” She printed a paper, wrote an X and pushed it at me. I asked “Do you need a signature?” A clipped “yes”. My career has been in customer service and I was astounded at this “first customer impression.” So much so that I asked her name: Hannah. Hannah is better suited for a non-customer facing job. On a bright note, the room was clean. The toilet did not function well and the shower was slow to drain, but that’s not a maid issue (other than reporting to maintenance). Complimentary in-room coffee was nasty, but the machine appeared to be clean (always do a self clean too; don’t ask why, take my word and just do it). There was only one small soap. If you decide to book, bring along a shower soap. The “complimentary lobby coffee” was a machine which appeared unused in months. Checkout was worse than Hannah. The man was extremely inconvenienced at our ringing him to the desk at 10:00AM. He irritated me so I requested a receipt to simply inconvenience him. Yeah, whatever. You (almost) get what you pay for; it was clean. Don’t know the name of the place as the sign was covered. There was an Under New Management sign.

It's a nice hotel but nowhere near luxury class and was overpriced. Paid almost 30 for a tiny piece of fish. Was told it came with peas when we asked what it came with. There were literally 12 peas. So I guess technically it came with peas. After eating the 4 bites of fish, we went out for dinner after dinner. Luxury prices but not a luxury experience.

Nice modern, clean hotel. Located in a great location within walking distance of downtown Independence.

It was a great location and the remodel is nice. Cafe very pleasant with a good menu. We did have some issues with slow wi-fi with the TV but otherwise everything was great.

A eeek day breakfast offering would be a nice addition, as opposed to the Keurig Coffee maker and cup of oatmeal. The room was very clean, quiet. Staff were all friendly.

We booked our rooms in Jupiter Next, which has more of a motel feeling (not my speed), as we thought the main hotel was full. When we found out there was space (which we were not initially told, we had to specifically ask while explaining we were not happy in the other building), we moved over there. Rooms in the main hotel were bigger and clean and my room had a nice view. Beds were comfortable. If you want five star luxury and associated service, this hotel isn’t it but the location is great, near lots of places to eat, drink, shop, etc. Some members of staff were very helpful, some did the bare minimum. It was a real mix!

Clean room, facilities and comfortable bed/pillows! We looooove the architecture of this entire building and having it be attached to three dining/bar options is so nice. We can’t wait to come back!

I had an issue with the AC that was not resolved and my room was so hot, that had to sleep with the windows open. I raised the issue three times and was told twice that a technician would come. The third time, I was told that there was no AC, and all they could provide was a fan. As a seperate problem, it was not clear that you had to request a room clean, and when I finally asked on my third day all they did was empty the trash and provide a couple new towels. Nothing was cleaned. They didn't even make the bed ??!!
