This is a very quiet little hotel in a great walkable neighborhood near train stations, restaurants and coffee shops. Shopping is also within walking distance, as well as Nijo Castle, which was a great place to visit. We had a room with 4 good sized beds and a seating areas. The staff is very kind and helpful, saving our luggage for us before and after our stay so we could explore Kyoto. It has a little garden off the lobby that adds to the serene atmosphere. I will absolutely stay here again!

Room appeared exactly like pictures. Appreciated large tv console and table with chairs for unpacking. Comfortable twin beds and hotel pajamas. Delicious breakfast buffet. Close walking distance to subway station, restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping.

Loisir Hotel Classic Garden Kyoto is a beautiful hotel with courtyard gardens and spacious and clean interior. It is close to transport options and key tourist destinations including the Nishi Market, Kyomizu-dera temple, and the Gion District. We loved it and would stay there again.

Great location,secluded but roomy hotel with a beautiful garden. Loved that they had free bike rentals to explore Kyoto which came in really handy several times. Convenient 7-Eleven right across the street from lobby. Walkable to great restaurants and shopping. There is also a public bath.

BEAUTIFUL hotel and had an excellent stay while I was in Kyoto. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our stay, and the room was spacious for a Japanese hotel. I liked how they have a public bath, breakfast, and a nice garden to view out to in the lobby and the placement of the hotel right in the middle of Downtown Kyoto is perfect for walking and for taking the bus/subway to other locations. I would highly recommend booking this place again as it was perfect spot to set up base to enjoy my Kyoto trip.

The lobby is lovely . Rooms are small but expected in Japan. comfortable beds. The onsen is nice as well. I would skip the breakfast buffet and just get some pastry and coffee in the area instead. Staff is wonderful. I loved that they had bikes to borrow.

We stayed in the family room and it was perfect for four of us. The sofa bed was essentially a real bed. Very comfortable key and clean . Very spacious with a little sitting area. Not much space for putting clothes away for four. Nicely located and easy walking to many places . Very safe. The style is a little old but it is so well kept it doesn’t matter. Lovely garden out the window of the lobby. Staff is very nice and helpful. Free bikes to borrow is a nice touch.

Would recommend upgrading your room as the standard is very basic. Nice option of using the public bath and breakfast option was good.
