I brought my kids and dog to this hotel for a mid week get away for a homeschool field trip. I loved the location of this hotel! The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. The overall stay was pleasant. The main reason for 4/5 was the general condition of the hotel. While I can understanding keeping costs down by avoiding major upgrades, the basic upkeep seemed to be lacking. The towel rack in our bathroom fell when we pulled a towel from it. Fixtures/hardware were loose in bathroom and around the room. The flooring in the hallways (3rd floor) creaked A LOT and you could feel the flooring underneath weakening. Headboards seemed to be smeared with cleaning solution that left a residue. The pool was fun for the kids, LOT'S of chemicals though. Hot tub felt a bit dirty. The hotel seemed a little understaffed but that may be typical mid week. I also didn't get room service and i assume it is because we had a dog with us but no one really explained that to me as it eas my first time traveling with a pet. I also wasnt told about the pet area outside and had been stuggling to find areas for my dog to go to the bathroom. So some basic communication errors. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, my children want to return! The balcony was fun to have on the 3rd floor, the views were awesome!

Exterior of hotel looked good, but the interior (our room) did not look anything like the picts on Expedia. I was expecting a room that looked like the picts, and that is NOT what we got. Our room was extra small (yes, we had the economical room but it is extremely small and you don't know that until you get the room) , outdated, uncleanly and unsafe. Our feet found the exposed carpet tack strip in front of the bathroom, the blankets/bedding had stains. The bathroom was not cleanly. At morning breakfast, the eggs were always sitting in water! It was an awful experience! It was not worth the $142 night; I would like to be reimbursed for 50% which would have been more reasonable!

This is an older hotel. We were scheduled to stay 5 days but one of the elevators didn’t work. Breakfasts were ok. The rooms were ok but the pine needle bugs were all over the place. On the 4th night, I was woken up with one crawling on me. The next morning, we checked out. It’s one thing to pick them up with a Kleenex on the floor or walls but to have them crawling on you was too much for me.

We stayed 3 nights. Hotel was very nice. Overlooked the town, with a Mount Rushmore view in the distance. Staff was very welcoming, and friendly. Pool and Hot Tub were welcoming as well. Plenty of eateries, shops and things to do in Keystone. Beautiful scenery. Will stay again if ever vacationing there in the future.
