"Nice one time experience"
My partner and myself stayed at Arima Onsen Taketoritei Maruyama for 2 nights in the standard Japanese room with half-board included. The staff members are really friendly, helpful and very polite. There are 4 different private hotsprings that you can choose from for a 45 minute session, we booked 2 sessions in 2 different private onsens which was nice, However there is a 300 yen *hotspring tax* charge per session that you have to pay, which I was not aware of until I checked out and was asked to pay this hotspring tax. There are also public onsens, which are gender separated which my partner and myself did not try due to tattoos. I would definitely recommend booking half-board as I feel that the hotel is not really near much food restaurants so it may be easier to eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel. For breakfast you have the choice of Western or Japanese breakfast and dinner is a Japanese Kaiseki style dinner. Overall, our experience was nice and relaxing, however I couldn't imagine staying any longer than 2 nights, it is far from any attractions - it is somewhere to relax and enjoy a Japanese experience, with their Japanese style rooms, onsens and cuisine, However, I feel that it is a bit too expensive for what it actually is, and I would not go there again, but I can say it was a nice one time experience, if you are able to afford it, and you are into quiet spaces and relaxing time and onsens then give it a go.

"Fantastic Staff"
Beautiful hotel, staff was wonderful. Assistant Manager helped us find addresses for my mother's schools from 75 years ago and made a list for our taxi driver. She called around to find a taxi driver who spoke some English and was willing to take us to the sites and wait for us. Anazing srrvice. Restaurants were pricey for us, delicious bakery. Beds very firm.

"Old meets new - great getaway "
My mom, my husband and I stayed at their suite on Monday after the Golden Week. It was quiet, spacious and clean. Large (per Japanese standard) living room is located between (2) bedrooms so there was plenty of privacy for mom and husband. Friendly staff, private bath, it was perfect for our getaway. There is no room service available, so if you are looking for Inn or Hotel with full service, you may want to check elsewhere.

"Good onsen."
Went there on Sunday for a 2 day stay. The hotel's public spa was way too crowded. So we only used the hotel's private spa which was good, much less crowed, but without an outdoor pool. It has a steam sauna room though. Room was spacious with a view. Dinner was kaiseki and served in our room. The first night's kaiseki dinner was disappointing. It was great to look at but lacked flavor. The Kobe beef was over cooked and smeared with too much sauce. Totally destroyed it. However, they redeemed themselves with a wonderful kaiseki the second night. Earned them an extra star. I researched transportation prior to going there but got confusing information. Once I got there, I found 2 easy routes. Go to Sannomiya station, take bus at bus stop M4, and you'll find yourself in Arimaonsen. However, those buses don't run frequently. Alternatively, take the subway to arimaonsen from sannomiya station. This route require transfers, but the transfers are simple, involving just walking across the platform to another train. No chance of getting lost.

Kato is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kato, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kato hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
