The floor and our room had the worst most overpowering chemical cleaning smell I have ever experienced. My nose and eyes were burning. I contacted Expedia and Hilton to try and get a refund so we could change hotels and absolutely no one could help me because there wasn’t a manager on staff available, which is completely unacceptable.

All went well until we got to our room. I opened the door and I thought somebody was still in the room. Trash all on the furniture and floor. Told the evening/night front desk supervisor. And right away he put us in a 2 room Room (king bed in 1 room and a sitting area/kitchenette in the other room. The only negative is our room was next to the train tracks and we couldn’t close the drapes far enough to keep the light outside from getting in the room. Night Supervisor got on top of things quickly otherwise. The breakfast girls didn’t understand English so she didn’t understand the fact that they were out of waffle the waffle mixture.

WE KNOW WHERE TO STAY WHEN WE VISIT KC

We visited several local restaurants with amazing food in the area. Loved the hotel, the cleanliness and quietness of it, and the staff. Only complaints (and they are not really complaints) is the bed comfort was not what we are used to and we had a hard time figuring out how to make the shower work (it had a handicap handheld option - which also would not stay in its holder). But that was a minor thing, like I said, not really a complaint. Will definitely stay here again next time we go to Kansas City.

Comfortable, but breakfast had problems

Room was very comfortable. So much better since we figured out to leave air conditioner fan on all the time. Helps with the stuffiness in the room. Frig in room didnt have a freeze compartment. Last time we were there, no scrambled eggs due to last truck, this time no paper plates so had to eat omelettes and sausage in a bowl.

Pool, clean & ready, unavailable-no warning

It is interesting that you show the pool as your introduction to this hotel. The pool looked pristine. It was all set with a large quantity of towels ready for use. Unfortunately, as you can see by the sign, it was closed 'for maintenance'. We had booked our room for 4 days, looking forward to leisurely daily swims before we went sight-seeing and met our son in the evenings after his work day. No maintenance took place. We had the feeling that the pool closure had more to do with staffing than with a problem with the pool. There was no warning of the closure when we booked the hotel, or we would have chosen another hotel. In every other way, our stay was very good. We felt a little cheated that our 'get-away' was going to be absent the pool that we had looked forward to using.
There was no warning of this when we booked the hotel. It was obvious that the sign had been up a long time.
The pool and the towel supply looked beautiful and ready to go. We were very disappointed. We would have make a different choice had we known. It felt like a staffing issue rather than a pool issue.

We arrived at 3:30 and were told our room wouldn’t be ready for 30-60 minutes. It was 2 hours before we got into the room. There were many others waiting also. There was no accommodation for this inconvenience. Pool was closed for renovation until further notice. The room was nice when we finally got to it, but after a long days drive we were very disappointed that we had to wait until 5:30 to get in.
