Big Time, NOISE PROBLEM

Zero sound isolation, if you are on the roadside or staying in one of the below rooms, you are not going to sleep at all. Also, because of the economic crises in Turkey, I believe they rented their rooms to people for a month or more We had 6 people staying above us... NIGHTMARE !!!

Beautiful location

Right by the Bosphorus Bridge yet in a secluded location. Lovely garden setting. One side of the hotel restaurant has a view of the Bosphorus and both sides of Istanbul.

Very pretty hotel with beautiful view

Only stayed one night but room was charming and immaculate (always appreciate a room with tea making facilities too as I was up too early for breakfast). Staff were very attentive in ordering me taxis for my business appointments. The resident car showed me to my room!

Room was small, in an annex, bathroom ridiculously small, perhaps 5 sq.m. No amenities. Breakfast disappointing, and on top of that the hotel is far out of the way. I won't stay here again.

last minute deal at a very reasonable price. location is 10 min walk from waterfront where you can find a nice bazaar and multiple restaurants and bars. Only downside is the walk back entails what is an almost mountainous hike - so either take a cab or make sure you are pretty fit! Very friendly staff and lovely out door eating area for meals.

Surprisingly great value for your stay

I stayed in this hotel for a few days and I was delighted by everything I saw. First of all, the hotel is strategically located - within a few mins to Ortakoy district and also close to Etiler and Ulus. The house itself is beautifully decorated with rooms that have a very nice and unique character. It also has plenty of outdoor space with a nicely designed garden and lots of tables/chairs and sofas. Rooms are clean and well maintained. And last but not least, hotel staff is extremely helpful. I was personally greeted by the owner and the staff kept offering tea/coffee - compliments of the hotel. Overall, the hotel offers a value way above what its price suggests. I will definitely go back to stay in this hotel next time I'm in Istanbul and highly recommend it to everyone.

The room was beautiful and spacious. The garden was large - where breakfast was held. Staff was friendly. Only issue was the noise from the highway that is not far from the hotel. Wish I had a room on an upper floor and then I could see the Bosphorus.

Noisy and inaccessible

It is inaccesible by foot unless you are willing to brave a steep descent along a narrow road that is traveled by cars racing to the highway. The sidewalk that exists is extremely narrow or non-existent and passes an area of brush that is the home of wild dogs who wander the road. The room that I stayed in with"views" had a view of the Bosphorous and the bridge over it. The bridgeis so close that sleeping is difficult as there is constant heavy traffic on the large roadway.

Beautiful rooms, wonderful staff!!

I have stayed in many average hotels in Istanbul near touristy areas, but I chose the location because it was close to a meeting and it turned out to be the best yet! If you want to stay in Ortakoy, I highly recommend the Symbola: definitely a boutique atmosphere, beautiful comfortable clean rooms, attentive charming staff, a few minutes walk from the Ortakoy strip, free internet, breakfast made to order in their tiny restaurant...just great!! I was there in November but in the summer, I imagine their plentiful outdoor terrace/garden seating is quite lovely. One note: there are some stairs in the hotel and hills to walk to Ortakoy, so this isn't the best option if that's a problem.
