I stayed in a town called Institute, SD. Had two bars and a gas station. Was right outside the trailhead to a section of the bad lands. Was a great time and my room did everything I wanted. Beautiful sunsets and rises.

We loved our stay here. Great room . Fabulous authentic place . Dinner at Wagon Wheel (not to be missed, especially if you get to chat with Jerry the owner ). It’s a one horse town and we loved it the more because of that . Plus the Badlands are like nothing else on Earth

Wonderful surprise for a terrific price! They even moved a microwave into the room for us. Splendid location. Only complaint is the loud bathroom fan connected to the light fixture. And too bad no breakfast service the mornings we were there but that's why we got a microwave. Fabulous views all around.

Checkin was OK, but no personality the girl checking in couldn’t have cared less about us. She rattled off information so fast that I had to guess what the plan was. The accommodations were OK, being in the Badlands was worth it in the end.

I wasnt sure what to expect at this motel, and was pleasantly surprised. It's very nice. Comfortable room and good, friendly service. No meal options when i was there, but there's a restaurant a couple of miles away.

Definitely an old property but clean and very comfortable. Nice staff. A good value. Bring your own food, though! There’s nowhere but a convenience store to eat or buy food anywhere nearby!

Location was great for accessing Badlands National Park, but we had no notice that dining was closed off-season. Only options in Interior are bars that did allow kids but weren't the most family friendly. There was a blood stain on the comforter, the room smelled of a nauseatingly strong cleaner, bathroom sink was a dribble of water and our shower would not turn on at all. Wifi and satellite tv service only worked in 10 minute increments without needing a restart. Maybe to be expected for being so remote, but was annoying after a long travel day. Staff only available 9am-5pm. We left a day early and went up to Rapid City instead.

The staff was very friendly, the location was really close to the Badlands, the overall space was large (though the shower space was small), and the beds were comfortable. I had a problem with many flies, a wasp, and a spider in the room, even though I was quick to enter and exit. The room could also use a microwave but does have a refrigerator.

Great location/good value

Cindy, at the front desk, was extremely helpful and efficient. Bed was very comfortable. Suoer close to Badlands National Park. No ice machine, but front desk was able to provide ice upon request. Towels were thin. Could use a towel bar in bathroom that is not above toilet paper holder.
