Very large hotel. The room was a standard size and had everything - the bed was comfortable. Our view looked out on Peace Park and the dome, which was a bit surreal. Lots of things to do the in the vicinity and very walkable - we only took the car out once to visit Miyajima island. Check out the Okonomiyaki, Hiroshima style - we went to a restaurant near the hotel called Nagataya - well worth the wait time. The Breakfast buffet was good - you could choose either Japanese style or more Western, or both! Plenty of choices. On the downside, we had a drink in the Sky Dining RIHGA TOP on the top floor and although the prices were standard for a large hotel (i.e. high), I do object to 15% service charges being put onto a bill without any prior notice and in a country that doesn't do tipping. We also looked at the restaurants in the hotel, and we didn't use them as we felt them expensive - there are loads of alternatives within easy distance. We were also charged 3000 Yen a day for parking which was too much. Due to this, we got the impression there were lots of little extras you could get stung for, so my advice is go for a room and breakfast and get everything else outside.

We arrived 1 1/2 hours before check in time. Our room was ready and they asked for $100 extra to let us into our room, which we declined.. it’s not the money, it’s the principle. Similarly, I asked for room temperature water at the the bar - the Barman said he has to charge extra! I mean, what could be easier than room temperature still water! That’s what I call squeezing fat out of a fly.. on the positive side, location and breakfast buffet were very good.

Great location, all the main cultural/historical spots are within walking distance and everything else the are public transport stops very nearby. The staff is very friendly, the hotel is super clean, the rooms are comfortable with a great view and the restaurant at the top is not only a great city view but the food and drinks are also really good!

Beds were way too firm. It was like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. Pillows were also hard and flat. Other than that, the room and hotel were very nice. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and historical sites.
