My family and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites York and wanted to share my experience. First off, the bed was incredibly comfy, which made for a restful night's sleep. After long days with family in the area, it's always nice to return to a cozy bed. The staff at the hotel were mostly friendly, greeting us with warm smiles during check-out. However, I encountered a few employees who seemed less enthusiastic about their roles, which slightly detracted from the overall experience. Now, on to the room. While it was somewhat clean, I did notice that it could use some deeper attention in certain areas. The design and furnishings felt a bit dated, and the overall ambiance of both the lobby and the rooms could benefit from a refresh. One area that truly disappointed me was the breakfast. The options were mediocre at best, falling short of the expectations I usually have for a hotel in this category. I was hoping for better quality. Lastly, the pool area left a lot to be desired. It appeared poorly maintained, which was surprising for a property of this reputation. It was a bit disappointing, as we had hoped to enjoy some relaxation time by the water. My kids love pool time when we go away. In conclusion, while the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites York offers a comfy bed and some friendly service, it has notable areas for improvement. A more thorough cleaning regimen, updated decor, a better breakfast selection, and enhanced maintenance of the pool area

You pay too much, for what little you get

Upon arrival the front desk girl tried to have us pay a second time, although we already paid through Hotels.com. I refused and showed her my bank account and receipt, so she had to call her manager. They put us through as having paid with cash just to get us our room and we had to deal with another receptionist the next morning. Our room had no toilet paper on the roll, had only two towels to use, the refrigerator did not work, and there was no hot water. When we went to the pool area, there were no towels available. The buffet breakfast had minimal to offer, as the guy in charge of the food was more busy outside smoking dope than keeping the food stocked. There was no coffee at all available and the pancake machine was out of service.

Overcharged by $168.17 and was told there wasn’t anything that could be done until a manager arrived in the morning. When I asked for a receipt for the overcharge I was told I couldn’t be given one.

Definitely below the standards I expect and find consistently with other Holiday Inns. Poorly maintained, not very clean and their pool was closed the whole time we were there. Front desk staff was rude and unhelpful.

Hotel was nothing like the pictures. The hotel is run down and needs repairs. I pulled out the fold out coach to make my daughter's bed and there was a bag of chips inside. I saw a picture of a hot tub so I was excited to soak in that while the kids were swimming. Unfortunately the hot tub was all boarded up and the indoor pool was the coldest we’ve been to yet. The pool looks absolutely nothing like the picture and it looks they are trying to paint around the pool but never finished? Carpet in the hallways are coming up and looks like a bad job.

Unsatisfied and weekend ruined

For starters we booked a suite. The toilet didnt work. So they put us in a double queen room which was $50less than the suite and didnt give us any money back. The water pressure in the shower was subpar. The pool was approximately 40° and was to cold to enjoy. Breakfast was suppose to be from 7am-10am we waited until 730 and there was still no breakfast. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean.

Scammed out of my $50

The stay was fine other than the pool being ice cold and the room of the pool felt like AC was on. But my main complaint is they just took 50 out of my account and there was no damages done to our room. In fact we cleaned up most of the mess before leaving. Scamming people for their money is crazy
