We really enjoyed our stay at The Ryder Hotel! The location is fantastic and perfect for exploring Charleston, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The amenities were also great and the overall atmosphere was fun and welcoming. That said, our room was very small, and being located directly next to the elevator made it a bit less comfortable than we would have liked. Overall, though, the great location, friendly service, and amenities made for a nice stay.

We liked being in downtown Charleston and the hotel’s historic charm. The rooms were nice and the hotel offered early check in early which was great. I did not like having a rooftop bar 1/2 block away. We were able to sleep, however you could still hear the music from the 6th floor. I also would have liked for the hotel to have a pool or outdoor area. Regardless, if you’re wanting to stay in the downtown area, it’s a great option, very central and close to restaurants, stores and bars.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston. The staff was courteous, attentive, and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Our first visit to Charleston was made even more special by our stay at The Restoration. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s genuine hospitality made all the difference. A special thank you to LaSharra at the front desk and Matt, the guest curator. They were welcoming and inviting, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Traveling with our baby daughter, we especially appreciated having a crib ready for her in our room and all the thoughtful touches that made our stay comfortable and easy like the breakfast basket each morning. We even had an issue with our rental car and they handled that so professionally. The accommodations were clean, spacious, beautiful, and felt like the perfect place to relax after exploring the city. And the location couldn’t be better! Being right in the heart of Charleston made it easy to walk to shops, restaurants, the water, and so many of the city’s activities. The Restoration was the perfect introduction to Charleston, and we will definitely be back!

Kudos to Kevin for providing excellent customer service the morning we checked out. We booked through Expedia and chose a package that included parking at a lower rate of $34 while the hotel charges $49. They still charged us the $49 and we had to spend close to an hour through Expedia trying to figure it out. The young lady at front desk simply told us during check in that she never heard of paying for valet through Expedia and there was nothing she could do. The hotel is nice, you have to use valet as it’s downtown Charleston and parking in general is scarce. Room was spacious. They have a “resort fee” of around $35 as well. Location is convenient and walkable. We booked a high floor room and it was quiet. Restaurant closes at 9:00 pm which is rather early for Charleston.

This place is so beautiful. The room was so huge. The staff were so friendly and kind. Would definitely stay again in a heart beat. You can’t go wrong with this place. It was under construction in the lobby and restaurant wish we could have had dinner there so many next time!!!

2 individuals were super friendly Micah and Daventon (I don’t think it’s the correct spelling of their names), pool lifeguard and server. They both had great personalities and were warm and inviting! The bar staff and nest staff was not. We like to eat drink and be merry and the setting was not condusive to have a good time. We’ve such good experiences elsewhere I doubt we’ll go back. Golf courses looked amazing!

It was the cutest quaint hotel. It was the best location to walk to everything. The room and cleanliness of the room was the best place we have ever stayed.
