We stayed in the Garden room and found it to be a little peace of paradise all on its own. The host was absolutely fabulous, he would come over in the morning and get the coffee going, gave us an itinerary of events going on for each day of the week. On Monday he hosted a bonfire bbq, with drinks, food, and entertainment. We felt very welcome here. One of the highlights beyond the awesome hot tub in the jungle was the outdoor shower, now I want one at my house. This will definitely be our Hawaii home for every trip to the big island. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or a better time staying there. Absolutely the best resort I’ve been to.

Property is on a beautiful location, very quiet and well maintained. We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the really delicious complementary 7 course dinner. Highly recommend the property if you are looking for peace and quiet accommodations away from the busy resort locations.

We chose this B&B because of its excellent reviews and it's proximity to Volcano National Park. The manager was accommodating by letting us change our room to a larger one because we were 3 people. However there are quite a few things that went wrong: 1. our room wasn't air conditioned- it was hot in August 2. Promised daily breakfast- we got a basket of a few items but it wasn't re- filled on the second day- so we had to go out to buy breakfast on the second day. 3. Very noisy - we had to sleep with the windows open - due to no ac - very loud birds making noise all night. In addition at 4 am both nights a beeping started every minute- the manager said it was the gate. 4. No instructions about how to get provisions, ice, .... 5. They do not come in to tidy the room . You get a clean room when you arrive and that is it. As a result, we didn't sleep both nights we were there. They charged us over $600 for 2 nights and we feel it was a waste. The owners (different than the host) are the best! They made sure that we have everything we need to make our stay comfortable and stress-free as our house in Ka’u was damaged by Hurricane Lala. The Nene Room was beautiful, clean and peaceful with its large picture window overlooking the serene forest. We also stayed in Gecko room that has one bedroom, living room, and kitchen. The Gecko room is comfortable and perfect for family and longer stays. The surrounding is quiet and close to stores, restaurants, and very close proximity to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.

It is an amazing place; the owner really loves her job, and I would 10/10 recommend staying here. It has a very nice location, and the breakfast was spot on.

If you're looking for a truly quiet and secluded getaway, look no further. You will feel like you're the only house on the planet. At first I was weary of the weather, but I found that the rain makes this place even more cozy and charming! Listening to the pitter patter on the roof with the windows open helped me sleep like a baby. Not to mention enjoying the gorgeous cooler temps in what I call the second living room which is outside! The hot tub was suuuuch a vibe with the string lights at night. We got to speak with Scott, the housekeeper, a little bit and he was such a nice guy! Little surprises came with our stay too: a free book (which is actually a reaaaally good fiction about Big Island!), 12 farm fresh eggs, croissants, brand new milk in the fridge, little Hawaiian sodas... They went all out to make us feel like we were at home! I miss this place already.

There was bugs everywhere. Thankfully they let us switch to another property.
