The hotel was great, and the location felt safe. It was right across the street from the police station. The breakfast was also better than we were expecting.

The Clayton Plaza was excellent! From the front desk to the cleanliness of the room to the breakfast it was as a hotel should be! We have stayed here several times and it is always the same. Excellent!

The location is great as you are close to Forest Park and could easily grab the metro link to downtown for a ball gamet! Day staff was friendly while evening staff was disinterested. No real amenities. Rooftop bar is pretty amazing.

Disappointed. Stayed on a road trip from Texas to Illinois. Pool played a big part in choosing the property but was unavailable during our one night stay because they were working on the roof. Would have been nice if they offered a discounted rate because of that. Breakfast was not “English style”, just a buffet. Bathroom in room was smelly. The adjacent bar/restaurant and tavern in the hotel were enjoyable.

We had a great stay. The room was clean, friendly staff, nice rooftop bar, good restaurant.

Room was clean to most but could definitely be cleaned better especially the picture frames as they were dusty... bathroom had loose hair in places...detachable shower heads would be great and the tub layout was very inconvenient as the knob was on the wall and not under the shower head as you opened the shower door! Carpets could use a good shampooing and a fresh coat of paint ! Overall good place for the location and price just wish they had a microwave in the room and included more in the price versus fee for service style options...not horrible but not the best!

This hotel was not very clean. My room smelled like sweat and the hallway was stinky too. The kitchenette provided a used sponge. The couch vinyl was peeling in multiple spots. The bathroom sink did not drain well. The shower had soap scum and mildew. The breakfast area had sour milk and the regular coffee was out in the machine. The receptionist was kind but the breakfast attendant was not visible.
