It was a wonderful stay the room was very clean and spacious. The common area downstairs was my favorite part of my whole stay. Wide variety of games to play with other guest that are also staying.

South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire.

The cabin and grounds are well-maintained. The pool was crystal clear and the slide was a nice addition. Gorgeous views!

My grandfather was a Bauhaus trained architect, so I love the mid century modern vibe - great memories! Clean, cute, friendly spot, and close to horse show. I’ll come back!

There was a wait for check in. The room was fine. It’s an older building and while mostly clean there are parts that show there age. There was an issue with the WiFi. The questions I asked the staff were answered politely. There was ample parking. You were able to hear noise in the hallway and in the room above. Breakfast was available but basic.

Hot tub was nice pool seemed decent didn’t really see any staff outside of checking in. Breakfast only offered coffee, tea or water and food options were slim but they did say it was under construction
