The front desk staff weren't friendly; no smiles, no eye contact, rushed through telling us about amenities, didn't tell us about the nightly activities or how to attend them. I just happened to see a sign as we were exiting the lobby. The building and its decor is showing its age and could use a refresh. The room was clean except for the glass balcony door (dog paw and nose smears) and cobwebs and spiders in every window and corner of the room.

Property was good, clean comfortable. Enjoyed a relaxing evening by the fire pit out front. The restaurant was very good. I enjoyed my light dinner there. My thought is a less formal dining area with separate bar area. I didn't feel it fit the rest of the decor nor the surrounding area. It would have been nice to have a cocktail after 9pm, other than the the "sidewalks" rolling up early.

it is pet friendly and the beds were great. Staff was very good. Room needs a refresh. Chipped paint, no light by the small table that I think is meant to double as a desk, no space in bathroom to put your bathroom stuff (there is space for a tooth brush and tooth past, chipped paint no walls, no seal under door so you heard everything in the front hall. No housekeeping for the four days we stayed but housekeeping carts were left in hallway for 24 hours. It was a OK stay but expected better quality for the cost.

Booked hotel through Hotels.com and was unhappy that a $35 “resort fee” was added to my bill, not disclosed until the reservation was done and my card was already charged. When I asked about the fee on check in all the things I was told it provided (pool, coffee in rooms, games in lobby…) are available at other hotels without added fee. Hotel is needing updating, decor was dingy, carpets and windows are worn. Ceiling fan in room had a visible layer of dust. I would not recommend this place for lodging.

Liked lake view, S’mores and fire pits. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. No street light to help mark entrance into Burlington Bay. Hard to see at night. Room darkening blinds would be nice. Never did get the in room fire place to work, in spite of the best effort by the maintenance person. Desk staff offered rate discount to compensate for lack of fire place. Good spot for agate hunting. We would stay here again, but a few adjustments could make it better.

We had reserved a room at the main building, with a balcony that had a view of the lake. We were charged for the room the same day that we reserved the above mentioned room. When we arrived, we did not get a room at the main building, we were told by the receptionist (who we had a hard time understanding) that there wasn’t a room for us available in the main building. We were assigned a room, in building #5 room #105, at a different location about a mile away. When we got to the room, we found out that the room was on the ground floor, without a balcony or patio and with a view of pine trees that blocked view of the lake. The toilet did not work properly and we had to flush it several times each time it was used. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work and the sink would not drain properly. And to top it off, there was black mold on the inside shower curtain. When we wanted to have dinner, we had to drive back to the main building. The restaurant was very nice and served excellent food and very good service. It was a nice place to stay, but it would have been better if we had received what we had reserved and paid for. We stayed at a different hotel the day before at half the price, with a mold free bathroom and a room that we had reserved.

One staff girl was super helpful, friendly and accommodating. The rest of the staff need better hospitality training. Unfriendly, unhelpful. I stayed with a friend who had knee replacements a year ago and we wanted to stay here because it had great views of Lake Superior. The elevator got stuck in our building and made the rest of the stay difficult. We didn’t trust it, even after it was fixed.
