hostel type atmosphere but definitely had a focus on selling you drinks and food at high prices. In commercial area just off main road, not near beachside. Breakfast was disappointing and not comparable to other hostels; no juice. Good smoothies but other drinks were $10usd or more. Good staff but limited knowledge of area behind tours they sold.

The staff was attentive and very willing to help you…Steven was very nice and gave us a welcome tour of the property and amenities…the only draw back and it was very small..no outlet in the bathroom…other than that the price was more than reasonable for the stay..🙂

This was a very unique property for us. It's part hostel part hotel. Our room was small but was fine. The staff was super nice and gave a tour of the property. We enjoyed the bar and the pool and we were within walking distance of a fabulous dining spot.

This was my first time being in a hostel and i am happy it was at this location. Pierre and his staff were amazing. They made sure everyone was taken care of. The dormatories from what inwas told are a lot better here then your average hostel. Pierre is more than willing to help you with your itinerary and where to eat. My stay in Uvita was a lot better because Tucan.

Incredible staff running the hotel! Only down side is many dogs at the hotel that also poo wherever they like so if you don’t like dogs it wouldn’t be nice. Overall incredible place though and we really enjoyed it!

We had such a warm welcome at this hostel. It's a laid back place, where you can have some space and chill-out time, but also you can get some great tips from others also staying. We ate in one night and had a really great meal. The owners had just come back after a couple of years away and were beginning to make changes/update rooms. There is a great bakery opposite (try the cinnamon rolls) and the supermarket is a couple of minutes away. The kitchen facilities are ample and lots of fridge space. There are also lots of great restaurants nearby.

Highly recommended

Nice place, nice room, friendly staff, great cocktails, usefully kitchen. The Tucan hotel is the kind of place you feel well, that you don't want to leave. We can't tell all what we like about this place, well organised, shadowed parking... near to facilities and still a quiet place to sleep.

Great place.

Thank to Alex, Maria and Miguel. As a team and individuel you made our stay a Fun Mémorial Vacation. My sons AJ and Karl love this place. Very convenient and affordable. Like very much the fact we can cook our meal in the commun kitchen. Plenty Space to relax and meet other travelers.

Stayed in a double room with private bathroom but was disappointed to be in a stuffy room with no air flowing and very little space. All the rooms are very dark with no natural light. Breakfast not tasty but there is a baker not far from the hotel as an alternative. Recommendations for things to do in the area were not helpful and we had to insist to be booked on a certain tour.

Sleeping in the jungle

Overall our experience was positive, the people working here are great and we enjoyed our breakfast and drinks from the bar. The location is a bit far from the beach but very convenient for the bus. We stayed in one of the outdoor rooms and I doubt we would be will to do it again. The bed was not very comfortable and I worried about bugs. Plus it rained through the entire night. It was a unique experience. We were also the only customers so the atmosphere was missing. Looks like it would be a fun place with more people.

Kid Friendly and Great Staff!

This place was great for our family of four. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the community kitchen was well equipped, it was cozy to hang out on rainy days And the food was great!
