This is our second stay at Hyatt in Port-of-Spain. The hotel is simply beautiful, meticulously clean, and located in downtown Port-of-Spain with easy access to the city and everywhere else, including the ferry to the southern city of San Fernando.
The gym is state-of-art, the spa, luxurious and the infinity pool is quite nice with a relaxing and calming view of the gulf. Hyatt Regency's pride is their well-trained and highly professional staff - second to none! They know how to please their guests, keep them happy and keep them coming back to Hyatt.
Though the rooms are luxurious, modern and newly renovated with a 60" flat screen TV, there are a few conveniences lacking. Instead of a chiller, the rooms could use a mini refrigerator and a microwave. However, you can get a microwave, if you request one. Hyatt serves an international clientele, and their guests diets and eating habits are equally diverse. Not everyone wants to eat at the restaurant or other eateries, every day. it seems as though Hyatt is attempting to offer no other options for people with special diets. In addition, guests may need a refrigerator to store medication, etc. Also, there is no towel rack in the rooms; quite an inconvenience.
Nevertheless, I love hotel and highly recommend it!

"Thank you Management for making our stay pleasant."
Large rooms with amazing views. Great location and beautiful neighboring. Spacious bathroom and you will find everything you need in the room and in the hotel. Some things (like rooms cleaning and food in restaurant) could be better, but the team from reception and Managers on duty did a great job and made our memories only positive. Thank you very much for your service and I would have no hesitation in coming to Carlton again.

Breakfast was quite good, but that's about it, wifi was $10 USD per day and only available in the lobby and bar area. Too many rules it was like a Blackpool B & B. One local Trinidad gentleman arrived early and offered to pay extra to get a room but was told no ? This surprised me as the hotel occupancy was less than 50%.
Overall, if you can accept it for what it is and sit on the beach all day it's ok

Friendly staff, great food and good place to stay. Management was very nice in that even though you checked out at 12noon you can keep the all inclusive bands on till 3pm.
Restaurant employees are always kind and willing to assist.
