"Not what it once was"
I have been hearing of the great coco reef all my life, but it did not live up to the hype. The room was well appointed, the beach well sheltered, and the staff very responsive. BUT- massive mosquito infestation everywhere, the breakfast buffet came no where close to hilton or hyatt (Trinidad), and the hotel has a musty smell at several places. Cant beat it for location, walking distance from airport, but will try another hotel next time

"Wonderful overall experience"
This hotel is a beautiful experience overall, with wonderful, friendly staff and very clean rooms, despite being in a garden environment. The occasional insect gets in but I believe that may be due to the cleaning staff leaving the doors open when they clean to circulate the air. My MAJOR annoyance is that 'cutoff' time that hotels with a breakfast package implement (not just this one, and especially caribbean hotels...) of 10 or 1030 am.... have they not heard of brunch, especially on a weekend? It it SO jarring to be on a island for a festival or party time, stay up late, then have to DASH out of bed like you're in school just to be able get your meal. And the food is EXCELLENT at this place so it hurts even more when you miss it.

"Under renovation, but a great find regardless "
We stayed on a Tuesday through Friday. There was hardly 3-4 other couples there. First night there, we were greeted with friendly smiles and complimentary rum punch, followed by a very nice man who carried our luggage to our room and showed us around the room (AC, television, room service, etc). The room was simple but very roomy. If you like a firm bed, you won't have any issues sleeping here. Our AC was not working properly at first, but a simple call to the front desk had a maintenance man was at our door in minutes and quickly resolved the issue. Yes, there were occasional sugar ants in the bathroom, but we have those in Florida, too, so it did not bother us. The Sugar Mill restaurant was beautifully set, overlooking the sea. Food was good. The POOL!! Amazing. Pristine. AND a swim up bar with the best pineapple maragrita a girl could dream up. My only negative would be the 20% additional cost tacked onto anything you buy (food and beverage), like bottled water for instance. We ended up going to the local store and buying several bottles and sneaking them into the room (had read other reviews about guests being scolded for bringing outside food/drink into the resort). We snuck our water and snacks in via backpack and had no issues; just kept our food in zip locks to prevent bugs. Overall a great find in the hillside just out of town. Will visit again.

"Proximity to Stonehaven Bay"
This is our second GBR experience within a year. The rooms are comfortable and the ocean view rooms literally put you at the ocean's front. Love the sound of the breaking waves.Staff were friendly, helpful and accomadating. Great breakfast with a spectacular view of Stonehaven Bay is an amazing way to start the day. Waves beach restaurant compliments your time on the beach as well as provides great nightime dining. Certainly will be back!

"Warm Welcome"
Nicholas and Troy was very polite and informative. I recommend providing details of the a la carte breakfast and having staff with clean aprons to assist. Housekeepers should also be in uniform. I recommend changing the shower gel. There was shampoo but no conditioner. What happened to the pool towels? Pool should be cleaned everyday as well. It seems like management has changed. This was my 4th stay. I don't think i will be back.

"Quiet beach resort"
The resort was very nice. This resort is also part of the Bacolet Beach Club resort so there is access to that property as well. There were 3 pools (1at half moon, 2 at BBC) and a restaurant and beach bar. The beach access is private and secluded from all other users. The hotel room was very spacious and comfortable as well. The mattress was VERY firm, a little bit too firm for myself. As well, the wood floors and walls creak a lot and so you can hear all your neighbours. We were lucky to only have neighbours a couple of the nights we were there. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with calling taxis for us to go to town. Overall, the stay was very nice and relaxing and I would consider staying there again.

"Nice Hotel with a private beach."
The staff was very accommodating even though we reached there very late. Room service was very efficient, they just need to buy new towels. They upgraded us to the Superior Penthouse suite which was great, so the view in the morning was very pleasing. The breakfast buffet needs a lot of improvement in terms of variety but other than it tasted good.

Scarborough is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Scarborough, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Scarborough hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
