The staff person, Sarah, was very helpfull and friendly. She not only showed her caring for guests but also was willing to solve problems that occurred during our stay at the Watergate hotel. We appreciated her hospitality and caring.

Nice well located one bedroom right on Dupont Circle. Excellent location for restaurants, small boutiques, and the like. Subway is located right by the property. The elevator is over 100 years old and can be tenuous at times to use. If you stay there, you must be able to walk the stairs in the event. The elevator gets stuck for is not working. There is a nice area on the second floor where guest can congregate and just relax. Be wary that certain rooms do not have windows or if they do their quite high, we had that problem when we got placed on our first unit on the fourth floor. I am referring to the old building. Avoid staying on the fourth floor. We were then moved to a better accommodation on the third floor. Inez was extraordinarily helpful and we truly appreciated the fact that she expedited the move to the better unit with more windows and a better location. The other benefit was that we had less stairs to walk in the event, the antiquated elevator wasn’t working properly. Next time that I go to Washington DC, I’d likely stay here, but I would request a unit on the third floor or in the new building.

Hello, I adore this hotel and this was my 4th stay here and I will stay here again. I say this first because this stay definitely had its struggles. The cold water faucet had hot water coming out of it for the first minute and a half until it cooled down enough to luck warm for use. This happened every time I went to use the sink or the shower...and was very inconvenient to wait each time. And no, the hot water was also hot....there was something going on throughout the building with the water line and the poor maintenance person was working on it the whole time. The shampoo was also out but quickly replaced. We were right next to the housekeeping room, so lot of noise throughout the day with that...which is good that the staff is consistently cleaning throughout the day, but its loud. If the doors were not see through at the bottom and met the floor (there is an inch and a half of space from bottom of doors to the floor) , it would help with reducing the noise. The beds were super comfy, the location is great, the room was clean, and all else was good. The water was really a huge pain and I so hope its fixed for my next Stay. Thank you :)

We booked a premium water view room 2 months in advance. At checkin we were told none of those rooms were available. They "upgraded" us to a small suite with absolutely no view. The only reason we selected this over priced hotel was for the view. It was too late to book anywhere else. Also, even though we paid in advance they added an additional night (over $1000) to our bill. They did remove the charge once we complained. The staff was excellent. Friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very well kept. I would definitely stay again in the near future.
