"Good but could be better"
lovely hotel and staff ideal location close to all we needed - fy in the ointment was the food and service - breakfast on the last day was perfect! but the restaurant was overpriced and food was poor. loved the pool every morning and the hotel staff were lovely and very helpful.

"A Welsh gem"
The Plan Dinas is a real gem. The driveway hides a beautiful house which is full of character. We stayed for 2 nights and it was lovely. My only gripe was that I tried to book a table for dinner (admittedly rather late on the day of arrival) but was told it was fully booked. I would have thought that guests would be squeezed in but maybe I'm old fashioned. Otherwise, the room was lovely and cosy. Little touches all over the room made the stay even more memorable. The bathroom was lovely too. We asked for an early breakfast the day of leaving and this was left outside the room on a hamper with a cold box for milk, juice and yoghurts. A lovely touch. Would definitely stay again.

"Nice stay, ideal for short breaks"
This hotel is ideal for people who want a nice relaxing break away, We stayed here to travel to zip world over 2 days which wasn't too far and the price of the room was as expected. The rooms were clean and a comfortable temperature. We arrived after check in had finished (23:00) but as I had contacted them due to a delay, they agreed to stay over which i thought was fantastic. Overall a good experience and would stay again.

"Great Location"
This was a great location for exploring Snowdonia, and a very comfortable drive into Caernarfon. This is a grand old hotel of the Victorian era and it maintains that style in the main body of the hotel. The breakfast was very enjoyable and offered great variety. Hot meals could be cooked on request, and the staff in the breakfast room were very friendly and efficient. Our room was in the building at the back. It was clean and comfortable but accessed through a series of passageways, lifts, fire safety doors and more corridors. It was a bit of a struggle with heavy luggage.

"Beautiful location amongst the hills"
Very good food during evening service, breakfast not quite so good. Whole fruit in bowl not very appetising and looked as though had been there for weeks - could have been made into fruit salad for those not wanting cooked breakfast.

"Old hotel in lovely Criccieth."
I stayed two nights whilst attending a rock festival down the road in Pwehelli. The hotel is old but well maintained. The single rooms are small but were fine as I didn't aim to spend that long in them. They give you complimentary ear plugs for sleeping as they say that the hotel creaks but noise was only a problem when my neighbour was coming and going. They have a nice lounge and garden and the dining room is an ample size for what was a pleasant breakfast. The bar seems popular with locals. The car park is only small and we got back late at night so had to squeeze in to unlikely corners, but got in ok. Everywhere was locked up tight with no one on reception after midnight, but you have a key to get in the front door. The place is very well located, the beach is five minutes away and a choice of restaurants and cafes even nearer. I'd recommend to stay here as it is good as any of the other hotels in the area and a reasonable price.

"Easy access to town and hiking"
One room was OK; the other had problems with the shower. Mattresses were thin and tired. Two hotel meals were delicious; the other two were just OK.There is a fantastic, local fish-&-chip restaurant very close; and an ice cream shop. Good location for hiking around town and to Welsh castle.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Criccieth hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
