Magical location, pools, staff, property.

The room we were provided was not in acceptable condition and did not match the description on the Expedia site. The issues made the space uncomfortable and unsuitable. We couldn't stay the night b/c of the smell in our room. Expedia was useless in helping us get in touch with the hotel for a refund. No one answered the phone for them so they offered us a nominal credit and told us to contact the hotel directly.

The breakfast was wonderful. Just a great overall exoerience.

Very convenient to explore everything around Florence

THE AMAZING LOCATION THE VIEWS OF THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS AND AMAZING POOL (WE DID NOT GET TO USE IT BECAUSE DUE TO THE TEMPERATURE BEING IN THE 60'S) THE RESTAURANT WHICH IS THE NEXT TO THE HOTEL WAS GREAT !!!

Villa Cora was an interesting and pleasant stay with a nice pool, lovely staff, and a beautiful setting. We enjoyed our stay but likely will not return. Strengths: - Well-kept stately villa and grounds - Attractive, beautifully-designed room and indoor common areas - Helpful, kind, and capable staff pre-arrival and during our stay - A lovely pool environment, perfect for staying cool and relaxing in summer - Excellent fresh lunch at the poolside restaurant Le Bistrot - A general sense of peace and calmness - Good shuttle service when available Areas of Improvement: - Value: at an average €1,065 / night (incl. tax), it was too expensive for what it offered - Air conditioning was weak and the room was hot throughout our stay - Housekeeping was inconsistent - Too many expensive extras - Weak service at the pool - The strange shuttle hours of 9:30 - 12:30 and 4:30 - 8:30 left gaps and required us to take many expensive taxis - Very little storage space in the small Classic Room - Rooftop bar and basement speakeasy were both closed despite being advertised on the hotel website I debated whether to rate this property 3 or 4 out of 5, and the quality of staff broke the tie for me.
