"Our second stay at CHULIA MANSION!"
Been 2 years since our last stay at this hotel and they have now added Jacuzzi now. Staffs are still as friendly and room is still as clean. Breakfast is decent and they have a nice rooftop bar. The only negative thing I can add this there seems to be more mosquitoes now. I have at least one to two of these unfriendly visitors daily in my room.

"Pleasant stay.. helpful staff.. right location.."
I love the scenic hotel with lovely staff to accommodate your needs at anytime of the day. The food is good, among one of the popular fnb in Penang. Should remind myself next time to order the chicken rice 24 hours in advance.

"Superb Old World Charm in Georgetown"
We had two downstairs rooms 2a and 3a of identical size and fit out - beautifully restored shop houses with first class amenities. Upstairs is a delightful eating area for enjoying poolside the fresh fruit / eggs / home made muesli / roti breakfast offered each morning and from 4pm a complimentary afternoon tea. The staff manner and professionalism was both genuinely friendly and helpful in booking restaurants and offering advice on itineraries. Nothing seemed to be of any trouble. The location of Muntri Grove provides for a very peaceful retreat being set well back from the road in a cul de sac.

"Like living in a Chinese home."
The hotel advertises itself as the reconstruction of a Chinese home, which is what it is. It has done an excellent job of creating a heritage hotel and has won many awards. They are deserved. Lots of wood, lots of classic ornamentation, lots of flowers. The room I had was decorated in fully Chinese form: windows with wooden shutters, glass plate, and red curtains. Chinese rugs on the floor. Comfortable bed with pillows in Chinese fabrics. The lighting was subdued, coming from elegant, classic chandeliers. Great of ambience but could prove a problem if one expected to do a lot of reading late at night. I didn't ask, but my guess is that if a guest wanted more lights, the staff would provide them, for the staff was excellent in accommodating special requests. Lester, at the front desk, and Angie, who seemed to work in both the elegant restaurant as well as the hotel, were the two I met most often and they were superbly helpful. Lester gave excellent suggestions for places to eat, to visit, to shop -- all according to one's wishes -- in a city which has immense variety of choice.

"I had a wonderful stay"
This is a great little place. Cheap, small, private lodgings with a good vibe. The rooms are on the third and fourth floors, second is a bar (only used at weekends) ground floor is the bar and restaurant. The food is good and the music is pretty chill (it's not a club or anything) a bit noisy at the weekends but really not too bad, and that sort of stuff bothers me. The staff are very accommodating. The only problem I had was the first room I was given reaked of varnish, they all have these rustic handmade beds which are lovely but because hardly any of the rooms have Windows the beds haven't been properly off-gased meaning the first room have me a headache, I changed to a room with a window which was perfect. The other rooms would be fine if they left the doors open for a few days. Or, in future used linseed oil or something less chemically. Like I say, it didn't affect my stay but it certainly could if you got unlucky with rooms, maybe request a window room. All in all a fantastic experience, Amazing location. Write down their emergency number though because after 11 they kind of lock down the cafe and I had to bang on the doors for a while to get in!! Great little gem.

Chinatown is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Chinatown, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Chinatown hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
