"A safe home from home"
We stayed here for 10 nights and were sad to leave. It really was a pleasure. We have stayed in flash hotels worldwide but would choose Muntri Grove over any of them. It is perfectly situated in a cul-de-sac off Penang Road and so is close to buses and various sites in Georgetown. The staff couldn't do enough for us and always with a smile. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The continental breakfast was delicious and sufficient to start us on our day. There is a night food court within 5 minutes which was handy - and the food is good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It has a lovely Malaysian feel to it with beautiful polished recycled floor boards and high ceilings. We will be staying there again when we go back to Penang.

"Good location, great service and very clean!"
We had a marvelous stay in Penang Yeng Keng heritage boutique hotel. It is an old building but it is well renovated! There have a very friendly and helpful receptionist. Room itself was clean and comfortable. We heard absolutely no street noise, although being facing onto a busy road.I was very pleased with my stay, although is short but with no regrets , high recommended!

"Nice hotel in the heritage area of Georgetown."
If we go back I would stay in a room at ground level rather than upstairs. As I feel the layout from what I observed, was nicer in the rooms at ground level. The meals and the coffee in the cafe/restaurant were excellent ... I looked forward to breakfast every morning we were there!. If you stay make sure you include breakfast you will not be disappointed, "the croissant" was a flavour sensation!.

"Clean white and not eerie for the building age."
Bang in the centre of Georgetown, so much live and characters. Truly all cultures going about their own businesses. Temples, Chinese and Indians, Churches and Mosques all in one street. Lots of hawker food and sleazy Bars at night.

"Like living in a Chinese home."
The hotel advertises itself as the reconstruction of a Chinese home, which is what it is. It has done an excellent job of creating a heritage hotel and has won many awards. They are deserved. Lots of wood, lots of classic ornamentation, lots of flowers. The room I had was decorated in fully Chinese form: windows with wooden shutters, glass plate, and red curtains. Chinese rugs on the floor. Comfortable bed with pillows in Chinese fabrics. The lighting was subdued, coming from elegant, classic chandeliers. Great of ambience but could prove a problem if one expected to do a lot of reading late at night. I didn't ask, but my guess is that if a guest wanted more lights, the staff would provide them, for the staff was excellent in accommodating special requests. Lester, at the front desk, and Angie, who seemed to work in both the elegant restaurant as well as the hotel, were the two I met most often and they were superbly helpful. Lester gave excellent suggestions for places to eat, to visit, to shop -- all according to one's wishes -- in a city which has immense variety of choice.

Chinatown is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Chinatown, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Chinatown hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
