The room was great for the price. Parking was in a parking garage and was free! However the add said their was air conditioning but it wasn't working in our room. Overall though the stay was good and would stay here again.

Check in was easy and quick. Room was large and had everything we needed. Very good location .

Good stopover hotel - lots of options to eat near by

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. Excellent location, 5 minutes to the main street with restaurants. 10 minutes to Hop on Hop off or Lady Dive tours. 15 minutes to ByWard market. Lots of Ubers to get you around. Parking, is available for a charge, just register your vehicle at check-in.

Two pools was awesome for the children!

We opted for the Gold plan and loved it! Breakfast was included, small plate appetizers and canapés and then dessert served in an exclusive common room from 5:00. Excellent service. But the hotel needs some refurbishing and updating. The desk chair in our room was literally shredded. This is a premium property. A wonderful and historic and perfectly located hotel. The Fairmount needs to give it some love.

I have stayed at Fairmont hotels all over the world and love them. The setting and architecture of Fairmont is wonderful and the Chateau Laurier is magnificent. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience this time around. Specifically the disappointments were around the staff. The front desk told us they would make reservations for us each day at the on site pub restaurant, but failed to do so. No big deal the first time. When we checked into the restaurant and could not get the table, we asked them to make us a reservation for the next 3 days, which was not done. We also attended the Emilia's restaurant attached to the Fairmont and after we were seated it took 30 min to get someone to attend to us, then once they did, they forgot our order and never returned after another 20 min and then we finally gave up and left. The Michelin rated restaurant on site also let us down as their service levels were so long that they ultimately ended up giving us most of the meal on the house, which was very nice of them. We also were wanting valet parking but were told they were full and had to park 6 blocks away underground each day. Not the experience we are used to and highly recommend the property manager do a review of service expectations with staff so that the customer's experience can be improved upon. Having run businesses myself, there appears to be a management issue on hiring, training and monitoring staff.
