I am a frequent visitor due to my brother's illness and my room is comfortable and clean. There may be some slight cosmetic eyesores in the rooms such a scratches on the table or chipping paint, but overall, it is a comfortable environment. Showers have worked well, adequate soap and towels and no clogs. Heat and air conditioning run well. I have been to many hotels around the area since May, 2025, and the English Inn is truly one of the better places to stay.

I have been a frequent visitor to the english inn, but my room this time was a little disappointing. The tv stations were not the same as my previous stays and no ottoman to the chair. I was on a different floor and not sure if that was the reason for the difference. The heat did not warm the room like my previous stays.also, i reserved a room at the very last minute so i admit i was very tired and hungry.last minute due to a emergency

We've stayed a couple of times here, once in a room and the bext time in a suite. Both times, the rooms were clean and perfect for an overnight stay (but if you like more elbow room, go with a suite). The manager and staff there are wonderful! My husband and daughter liked the breakfast, and even though we aren't tea drinkers, the 4pm - 6pm tea time in the lobby was absolutely lovely! There's also a small workout room, and next to that is the indoor pool. The hotel is directly behind a popular bagel shop, and is also a short drive to restaurants and shopping. We had a nice time there and will definitely stay there again the next time we're passing through Charlottesville.

Our room (and probably much of this hotel) needs renovation. There was mold in the bathroom sink and rust on the metal parts of the shower. Erica, however, is fantastic running the breakfast room. She keeps everything stocked; she's friendly; she cleaned and moved a high chair for our grandson to use; she even took some family pictures for us. The second day she recognized us and asked if the baby was coming down and then moved and cleaned the high chair again.

Loved the tea and cookies every afternoon by the fire and Christmas Tree!!! Also love the breakfast!! My favorite was the cottage cheese and peaches! The bed could have been better but other than that it was great and the staff were very friendly. Enjoyed our stay!!
