Everything inside was fine. The room was large and clean. Our dissatisfaction was with the condition of the parking lot. It was covered in ice (some places large mounds of ice) and hadn’t been cleared. It was extremely dangerous to walk on. We understand that this was a very unusual storm with much more snow and ice than a normal storm. However, it had been several days since the storm, and the storm warnings had been issued starting a week before it hit. When we asked why the ice had not been removed, we were told that they had run out of salt in Charlottesville. So have it scheduled to be delivered before the storm arrived coming from a different city! Mgt. didn’t seem to care when we expressed displeasure with how dangerous the parking lot was. It was curious though that one of the employees at the front desk had her car parked at the front door under the canopy the entire time we were there. We know this for a fact because we saw her go out and move her car a few feet! We have stayed here several times but will not be back. Any business that isn’t concerned about the safety of their guests is not a business that we will patronize.
