"A Great Place to Visit"
A short break of four nights, Canterbury offers lots to do with riverside walks, historic locations, good shops and restaurants. The theatre offers a great range of entertainment and there are lots of local character pubs. A ten mole drive takes you to the sea.

"Avoid the standard double."
The location was great, staff friendly, common rooms and included breakfast were all good. My only complaint was my room. It was on 2 floors. One bed an TV on ground, and one bed and shower room on the 1st floor. The furnishings were quite old (cording hanging from the chair), and the carpet really should have been swept! We were in an annex, which was quiet, but you have to key in codes to access the building (so don't forget the slip of paper they give you at registration). With a different room I would probably recommend this hotel - but not the room I had.

"Quiet hotel just outside Canterbury city centre"
My friends and I looked for a hotel close to the city centre but in a quiet neighbourhood and we got exactly that. The rooms were even more spacious than expected, the breakfast was good but sometimes arrived with a bit of a delay due to the many guests having breakfast at the same time. The Carvery restaurant is much better than we expected as well, and for a VERY reasonable price. Will definitely book here again if we go back to Canterbury. It's a beautiful hotel with friendly service.

"Close to city centre and shops."
Lovely hotel, with friendly, helpful staff. Within walking distance of city centre and shops. Free parking on site, which is rare in Canterbury. Good choice of food at breakfast time. My partner wasn't well, so asked for porridge and scrambled eggs, which they provided happily and speedily, which was served in our room.

"Friendly and accessible"
Excellent location for walking down into Canterbury old town and up to the University of Kent. I would definitely stay here again when visiting my daughter at the University of Kent. There is also a very convenient bus stop if I had needed that. Tony was very friendly and offered maps and insights to my visit in Canterbury and about a day trip to Whitstable. He was also generous in letting me leave my suitcase before check in and after check out. The bed (in the Writers Room) was VERY comfortable and the shower had great hot water and pressure.

Great location and a real historic building (built in 1503) with quirky crooked windows and tiny doorways (mind your head!) but slightly run down. There seems to be little in the way of staffing with no real reception - you have to ring the doorbell or make a phone call to get in. The light in the bathroom didn't come on - just flickered. Reported this but nothing done about it. We were only there for one night so were able to live with it but not really good enough. Full English breakfast was tasty and well cooked and the guy taking the orders was friendly and helpful. The tea/coffee making facilities in the room were generously stocked. This hotel is a real diamond in the rough and with a little more effort could be a real gem but at the moment it doesn't quite cut it.

Canterbury is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Canterbury, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Canterbury hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
