Poor hotel

My room was like a sauna. Air conditioning was defective. Also, had to pay extra for parking which was not advertised when booking the hotel. The breakfast serving area was too small, and therefore, far too busy at breakfast time. I informed reception of the air conditioning issue and was told this was a known issue for that side of the hotel.

Overall it was an average property where the good points included, good clear rooms and toilets and hotel overall, fairly new and well functioning, good service from staff on the usual stuff like checkin, breakfast etc.. However the wash basin in our room was clogged and even after letting the hotel staff know, there was no resolution from them which made the whole experience really unpleasant. Since we had only a single night, we got by but overall the level of support from the staff for issues was really bad without any acknowledgement from them.

We were disappointed with most elements and it was difficult to get the staff to understand what we needed so things were unresolved. Really we should have been offered a move or money off because on the hottest weekend the aircon in our room did not work, it was a constant 23 degrees c. Not the cleanest either in the public areas and in the room. Would not recommend or return.

The property was not great. The tap in the sink did not work properly, and was extremely difficult to turn on and off. It felt like it was getting jammed each time one attempts to use it. The shower water pressure was very low for a ground floor room. Was even told that the room did not have air-conditioning at time of check-in... which obviously does not go down well in the summer heat Given option of getting a refund if we wanted but where else could we go in such short notice? Breakfast ended early as well, without any notice from staff that it was ending just before 9.30am (most places that we'd been in England would end approx 10am) Check-in queue took a long time too

Awful - avoid

We stayed during the hottest day of the year, the air conditioning was broken and our room was over 30 degrees in temperature. We asked for a fan in our room, we were brought a broken one. When asking for ice from reception they told us they couldn’t give us any. The staff were unhelpful, unsympathetic. We spoke to other guests of the hotel who left to stay somewhere else due to having such a poor experience. Would not recommend staying here.

We stayed before a hospital appointment and it was ideal. From check in to checkout the whole experience was good.
