Unusual Credit Card Deposit Practice — Watch Your Final Charge. Very disappointing stay. We stay in hotels almost every weekend for roughly 9 months of the year, so we are very familiar with normal hotel procedures. Check-in felt more like an interrogation. I originally listed 3 guests, but our son didn't come. We were questioned about where he was and asked about his ID. My husband was also asked for ID even though the reservation was in my name. He questioned why it was needed and declined. My ID was kept for an unusually long time while the employee entered information into the computer. Maybe this is their procedure, but the entire experience felt excessive and intrusive. My biggest concern is billing. Our stay was $220.43, but my card was charged $370.43 as ONE completed transaction, including a $150 "refundable" deposit. It was not a separate pending authorization like we normally see at hotels. A week later, I still have not received the $150 back. Guests should watch their statements carefully because the single charge could easily be mistaken for the total cost of the stay. Our room door also DID NOT reliably latch unless we pulled or slammed it shut—a serious security concern we discovered by accident. The room wasn't clean, was very noisy, washcloths literally fell apart during use, and only shampoo was provided—no conditioner or body wash. The lighting was so confusing we had to call the front desk to learn how to operate it. We would not stay here again.

Great place to stay, huge hotel rooms in close to everything. I would absolutely recommend this place.

All the staff were very attentive, and my stay was wonderful.

The room smelled very musty. We checked in on the first floor and asked to move move to the third floor and it also smelled musty very hard on my mom due to her breathing issues… Icemaker did not work on the third floor… Staff was helpful and courteous.

So one thing that was not shown in pictures was that the room did not have a working air conditioning. They used a floor unit that had condensation that had to be emptied every 3 hours to work. An alarm would go off to warn you. At night. Sleep was terrible. I had to wheel the unit into the bathroom to empty it out. When I brought this up to the manager he just said that it had to be emptied out every time it was full of water. He said he would be happy to come do so. I told him that was not necessary as my wife was using the shower. I would not stay here. The check in process was awful. Their computer system was down so at check-in I was charged for 2 nights that had been prepaid. And when I pointed it out the staff member got really unsettled and had me talk to her manager on the phone. Room was not ready when we got in. There was trash in the trash cans. On the second day I asked why my room was not serviced when I returned after being out all day. The same staff said in a very condescending matter of fact way that they did not service rooms unless it was requested. The only sign I saw said that we needed to put a little sign on our bed if we wanted the bedding changed. But they never in came in to our room. Staff was very unhelpful. The pictures made the to hotel seem like a beautiful vintage hotel. It was nicely decorated but I would not stay here. Not having working AC and very inhospitable front staff made our anniversary getaway terrible
