Good size room and very clean. The hotel wanted $150 to check in to the room early which was disappointing. We were offered a free drink for our wedding anniversary only to find that everyone had been offered a welcome drink at the bar! Overall, a bit disappointing for a 5 star hotel.

The hotel seems to be managed with a primary focus on revenue extraction from guests, often at the expense of ensuring a pleasant and comfortable stay. An example: Despite claiming to be a 5 star hotel, rooms do not have electric pots to heat water or coffee machines. This is inconvenient for jet-lagged travelers. However, the hotel does not bring hot water to the rooms, unless “something is purchased”. Minibar has very limited options. Breakfast is fine, but something as simple as an omelette must be paid extra. The service of room cleaning is very good, but otherwise other services are of not consistent quality, mixing staff with very good customer service skills with other that are most average. Overall, hotel infrastructure is good, perhaps a bit dated, but what defines a 5 star hotel is making guests feel at home and comfortable. In this the hotel does not deliver. A pity because the location is good.
