Hotel is worn down, repairs obvious but not completely done. TV didn’t work, lots of bugs inside, not thoroughly cleaned, smelled, dark & dingy. Bed was comfortable, we stayed one night and they were kind at the counter and tried to fix TV. We stayed only one night of planned 4 night stay.

Staff was very helpful in every way, and went above and beyond service needed

An unusual amount of blood and filth in the room. The bedsheets were covered in black flecks of something and there was clearly blood stained into the carpet next to the bed as well as the shower curtain. Beyond that, the room was loud, and there are flashing lights all over from the air conditioner to the smoke detector

We had a great stay at the Renaissance Baton Rouge and would definitely stay there again. All of the staff was friendly and so helpful. Highly recommend!

The Cook Hotel was probably in its “Heyday” back in the early 2000s, when it was built. It’s very convenient to everything at LSU being right on campus, but the hotel itself is very dated. The rooms are small, amenities nice, the elevator is on its last leg. The gift shop is well stocked but skip the breakfast. Our “Deluxe King” had a comfortable bed, way too fluffy pillows, and you could barely walk between the TV stand & the bed. Staff were friendly and the self parking is free. Great location if you’re visiting campus, but it’s like stepping back in time… to 2006. My Gam Gam would love it.
