"The lobby smells like a sweaty locker room."
The room was nice. The mattress not so comfortable. Besides the lobby's first impression, overall acceptable accommodations.

I've only stayed in a B&B once before, and it was again a pleasure to stay in a room that doesn't look (or function) like yet another generic hotel room. No massive TV screen dominating the room, for instance. No paintings devoid of personality. The breakfast, as I'm sure others have mentioned, were incredible. Homemade and healthy. Well, the fruit course is. Yes, I said "course." There's more than one. The last B&B was much more come-and-go banquet style, which was fine but just not as impressive. The hosts, Cathy and Carl, are kind, engaging, and well-informed local residents.

Nice place right on the water. Some of the staff were pleasant. The gentleman at the front desk when we checked in was not friendly at all! Decent continental, although as some of the breakfast items were not replenished as they ran low. We would definitely stay there again.

MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED !!!! Essentially an older, well maintained, clean, convenient motel. Management was friendly and efficient. Room was HUGE, very clean, well equipped for the price. We had a problem free three night stay. Quiet, set back above the road (U.S. Rte 1), just north of Belfast. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Better than the average reviews we'd read for this property. Far better than most budget motels !!!!! Fridge and microwave in room, but no coffee maker. Breakfast was coffee and budget donuts, with no place to sit. At these prices, who cares !!!!

"Cross the bridge to North Belfast "
My brother and sister-in-law were visiting from the Midwest. We don't have room for them at our house, and so found this place, only 10 miles from our home. It was affordable, clean, pleasant, had a great staff, a super view (although it did made me wish I could have afforded a cottage closer to the shore). The motel is right on the highway, Route 1, but has a pretty buffer of vegetation and so feels less like a roadside place of last resort. Room was small but very comfortable. No breakfast or options close by, but that just encouraged us to seek new adventures. The Hide-Away Diner in Northport has fantastic breakfasts and my visitors loved the corned beef hash.

The Gull Motel

196 Searsport Avenue, Belfast - Map
"A Perfect Stay"
The Gull Motel is very well maintained. The landscaping was neat and the paved parking area was clean and in very good condition. The room was in excellent condition, clean and showed no signs of wear (for example, there were no marks or stains on the walls, carpets or furniture). The room was large and contained a small refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and had an air conditioner. The room had a table and two chairs inside as well as outside. The staff was pleasant. there was a k-cup coffee maker in the office and packaged muffins available. The bathroom was fine although the sink was small - I used a facecloth to avoid splashing onto the floor. Overall, I was quite pleased with my stay.

Belfast is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Belfast, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Belfast hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
