Strong smell

Most things are superb at this hotel. We have stayed here before and appreciate the service, location, and price. This time there was a very strong smell of cleaning fluid in our room. We called and asked about it. A cleaning lady came but said she couldn’t smell it. It eventually lessened, but every time we returned to our room we could smell it. (The hotel staff offered to change our room, but we declined.)

The place had a great view and overall was pretty good. However, the bathroom was missing some essentials like a hairdryer, ironing board, and other basic amenities — which I would have expected given the price. Room service was friendly and efficient, but a bit more attention to detail would help; they accidentally left the fridge door open, which unfortunately spoiled some of my medication.

A very pleasant stay

My husband and I had a very pleasant stay at the Ramada Plaza Bangkok Menam Riverside when we visited Bangkok for our vacation. The staff is courteous, friendly, and very helpful. They also greet me with a warm smile, “Hello, Madame” greeting, and make me feel welcome during my extended stay (due to my husband’s medical emergency during our trip). The location is close to Asiatique Riverfront, where there are bars, gift shops, boutiques, restaurants, dessert galleries, and a theater that showcases daily Siam Fantasy shows. The daily breakfast buffet will not disappoint as it offers a diverse food options, including Western/European, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, and Thai etc. It also offers dining options. My favorite is their large size swimming pool where I could do my daily morning swim laps & where most guests tend to dip & sunbathe after a full day of tours. The hotel also offers nightly live music performed by a Duo Imagini Filippino Team - a pianist & singer, who entertain guests with 3 performances nightly ( 2 in the outdoor dining area & 1 in the hotel piano/bar lounge). While the King bedroom we occupied on the 10th floor was quite spacious with a nice view of both the large swimming pool & the Chao Phraya River, it can use some renovation as it’s a bit worn/ outdated. Overall, we had a very positive experience & pleasant stay. Btw, we understand the hotel is undergoing a major facelift & renovation which is expected to be complete at the end of 2026.
