Breakfast food and service best thing about hotel. Otherwise disappointing in comparison with other hotels in Ireland, some quite a bit less expensive. Room definitely needs refurbishing, especially bathroom--a bit shabby. Bar and restaurant service lackluster and food okay but not great. Good location. WARNING: No air conditioning! Room was hot even though in mid-60s outside in mid September. Can't imagine staying here in July and August!

The hotel overall was great. The pub and restaurant were great when we didn't want to run back into town. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions. It was a lovely choice for an out-of-the-way stay. The bus stop is a short walk from the hotel, and the fare is 2 euros. An Uber into downtown cost us about 13 Euros. We walked into town a few times (about 20-30 min), depending on where you are going. Our room did not have AC (that I saw), so we opened the window at night. Some of the locations downtown were more convenient, but also much more expensive. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay in Kilkenny at the Pembroke Hotel. It was walkable to all that the city has to offer.

Love staying here as its super clean, showers always work, bed sheets and towels are fantastic and the food is excellent. The bar also has a good selection of drinks.
